As briefly discussed with our friendly scoreboard operative Sonic, I have a number of tenuous links to our beloved club:


1. My brothers girlfriend went travelling and met Dick Mackey's son. :D

2. A woman who works for the company that our company uses for graphic design work was married to a Swindon Town player in the late eighties (she won't tell me who). :D

3. Her brother designed the latest version of the Swindon Town logo. :D

4. Her father used to own (or partly owns) Arkells brewery. :D

5. One of my mates works with Sam Parkins younger sister (not applicable now I guess) :cry:

I can now add to the list the fact that my bosses fiance is very good friends with Iffy Onuora. They're getting married next year (my boss and her fiance, not Iffy) so I will probably get to meet the great man (hopefully he's still around by then). :D

All these links, and the ironic thing is that i'm the biggest jinx ever to grace the county ground. :cry:

The current Swindon Town logo is an embarrassment. How that tacky thing got approval by anyone other than Stevie Wonder I'll never know.

Le God and myself could have done far better, but the club should have just stuck to the previous badge.

if the stadium development ever goes ahead & if the club ever gets itself out of the mess its in now, i can see the whole image of the club being redeveloped & re-branded = new badge  8)

It is fucking crap, let's bring back the history to the club.  We need to re-invent this club to stop it going under.  We need links to the people of the town.  That badge is as faceless and as meaningless as the club feels to most of the people of the town.

What would you put in a new badge, that would reflect the town?

I'd plump for a couple of single mums, the Oasis, and a guilotine (sp?) for Dr Lister...

The old train one was a good badge, at least it showed a little of the town's heritage.  As Wiltshire's only major club, we have plenty to choose from to attract interest from Swindon and the surrounding areas, Avebury, the White Horses, Ridgeway.

Let's get a few decent badge designs and send it in, we could change the future of STFC.  God I sound like Gary Stanley.

This may have something to do with me waking up this morning, clapping my hands and saying "this is gonna be a great day" just because that old bloke on Jerry Maguire does it every morning.

I definately preferred the old badge.It actually meant something,like it had the railway on and everything.look at the current badge,ooooooh it has a 's' for swindon on!(no offence to the womens brother!)
I don't have any links with swindon :( When My dad used to live in swindon he used to play footie with holgates dad though I think.
Also a bit random but my cousin is in a band and the drummer of the band is a girl and her brother is lewis haldane of bristol rovers 8)

I couldnt imagine Burnley or any other Northern Monkey side changing their historic badge for a crappy updated one. :|

Any new badge should incorporate a true modern reflection of life in Swindon, and therefore should include:

- Teenage mothers
- The twin towers of Park South
- groups of chavs hanging around in the town centre
- business parks
- council ineptitute
- Wheelie Bins
- Shaw "Country tip, sorry, park"
- A Honda factory

You've left out 'used Condoms' and 'used Syringes'.

I think the new badge should be traditional such as a coat of arms like Bristol City.

one of you design type people need to incorporate all of this into a badge. It would be very very funny.

I'd stick a pole in their spokes suddy, then kick the fuck out of the thieving crackhead scum once they've fallen off.
