Post by: 4D on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, 10:34:00 Just seen something on FB that they aren't selling to under 18s in T1 and T2 due to concerns regarding crowd surge? That true? :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:
I'm over 18, how tf do I get a ticket? Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: Batch on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, 10:55:15 Just gone on the club site to look at buying tickets for Saturday and the whole of T1 and T2 looks unavailable. Is that area condemned? Liar! There are 5 tickets available in T2 :) And only a few in T1 and T2 v Barnet. But loads in T4. Weird Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: Batch on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, 10:57:41 Just seen something on FB that they aren't selling to under 18s in T1 and T2 due to concerns regarding Platinum security will stop them, no problem. Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: 4D on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, 10:13:58 No seats available T1 or T2 at all, they wouldn't have sold out so wtf is going on?
Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: Pericardinho on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, 10:23:07 the lack of communication about this from the club is completely embarrasing.
I'm hearing from twitter it's because these areas are deemed unsafe. All the excitement I had before doing Walsall away has been evaporated in this weeks events. Unsafe stadium, no kits for sale. It's just one thing after another. Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: 4D on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, 10:25:11 Give it a year and we'll all be squeezed in the DRS watching National League :)

Post by: 4D on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, 13:20:58 Another thing I notice, they seem to have made the back 6 rows of A6U in the Arkells unavailable each game, with absolutely no explanation.
Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: Audrey on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, 13:24:32 How can these areas be any more unsafe than the rest?
What is unsafe, anyway? Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: Jimmy Quinn on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, 14:28:10 Health & Safety didn’t exist in 1980. Spurs fans set fire to a program stand behind the Shrivenham Road/Strstton bank turnstiles and the game continued with fans up the floodlight.

Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: Leggett on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, 18:04:59 From memory, you'll not be allowed access to the ground in any hi viz clothing as it can distract from the actual safety bods/security/etc
:D Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: stfcjack on Thursday, August 7, 2025, 07:50:20 Doubt I would be the big Town supporter I am today if it wasn't for the full and loud Town End from when I was growing up and in my teenage years. It was the noise and passion that hooked me to the club.
I know the atmosphere in the TE has been on it's arse for a while but when on the few occasions we do have a big game, there's not much better than a packed TE. If that gets condemned, part closure or banning any U18s or whatever it is they're doing then it's just shite. Shooting themselves in the foot constantly Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: Ardiles on Thursday, August 7, 2025, 09:07:46 So when is the SBC inspection happening to determine whether tomorrow's game goes ahead?
Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: Batch on Thursday, August 7, 2025, 09:10:17 So when is the SBC inspection happening to determine whether tomorrow's game goes ahead? Tomorrow (Adver#s Dan W thinks). The game is the day after tomorrow Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: Batch on Thursday, August 7, 2025, 09:12:10 Another thing I notice, they seem to have made the back 6 rows of A6U in the Arkells unavailable each game, with absolutely no explanation. There is also a small section in DRS DL7 at the front closest to Town End - not entirely sure if its always like this or not - doubt anyone sits there anyway Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: Ardiles on Thursday, August 7, 2025, 09:22:56 Getting ahead of myself! Apols.

Just been to the ground and I noticed that section has black netting all over it Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: theakston2k on Thursday, August 7, 2025, 10:46:45 With all this going on I assume we can take it as a given that the Stratton Bank is officially unusable and won’t be allowed to be used again without significant investment or redevelopment.
I wonder what the allowed capacity of the ground will be after all this, i remember a couple of seasons ago the capacity got restricted because of emergency generator shortcomings. I wonder if there will be similar restrictions in place now. Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: Ƭ̵̬̊: The Artist Formerly Known as CWIG on Thursday, August 7, 2025, 11:01:30 If parts of the town end and arkells are off limits then stratton bank is as good as condemed.
One stand, we've only got one stand! (fully working) Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: Berniman on Thursday, August 7, 2025, 11:18:13 The CG now officially held together with duck tape and double sided sticky paper just to keep everyone safe..
Can you imagine if an accident of some sort occurs in the crowd during the course of the season and the state of the stadium gets reviewed because of it - wouldn't have a leg to stand on.. Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: 4D on Thursday, August 7, 2025, 11:20:41 Could start the Pox song on Saturday (game dependant)...
Swindon Town is falling down.... Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: DV on Thursday, August 7, 2025, 11:26:41 I would love to know how often this safety inspection thing is?
Is it yearly or like every 5 years or something? Is it possible this sorta thing happens ever year? We need certain things done to get the safety certificate & we do the work at the last possible moment : just this year it’s been blown up & made a lot more public? Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: Wobbly Bob on Thursday, August 7, 2025, 11:44:29 Safety certificates are reissued annually.
I wonder if there is a correlation between basket cases & stadiums with safety concerns? Silly question. Sheffield Wednesday also spring to mind. Birmingham before change of ownership as well. Maybe the inspections are becoming more stringent, as they should, or they may vary depending on the local authority. Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Silly question. Sheffield Wednesday also spring to mind. Birmingham before change of ownership as well. Maybe the inspections are becoming more stringent, as they should, or they may vary depending on the local authority. I suspect like any such thing it will depend on the Local Authority and their interpretation. Not been to the CG in years but it must be in a complete state if they are struggling to get a SC considering the state of many stadia up here! I know that in addition to the wider issues, Morecambe are up shit creak on the stadium as a sponsor who provides something (I don't recall what it is) which is imperative to obtain a safety certificate has said they are doing nothing until the ownership changes. Title: Re: Is part of the Town End closed? Post by: 4D on Thursday, August 7, 2025, 16:35:47 Hmmm, 3 seats in T1 and T2 now available :hmmm:
