Thought the ref got 99% of his decisions spot on but unless there is a clear & obvious foul before the camera pans into the box than our penalty is one of the softest I’ve ever seen….

Oldaker by far the best of a mediocre bunch. Looked composed on the ball, always trying to get it forward and some lovely cross-field pings also.

Dont agree. He did the same thing again and again. Crab pass or big booming cross field ball. Needs to be able to mix it up - pass and move or beat your man. Otherwise, the opposition will just sit back in formation and you can’t break them down.

Personally think he was revelling in the 11v 10 situation. Before the sending off I thought he was absolutely average. Tabor for me for his impact. Out of the 90 minuters I thought Munroe looked decent.

Albeit not his best game but when Ameen gets running at people he’s very very good at the level. Everytime he backed himself we looked much more creative.

Yes. Which makes it more baffling how instead of using him in acres of space we prefer to plonk the ball on Flints head instead with a diag.

Baffling how often we went long towards Smith.

Yeah, probably works more often that not but was never going to work against Flint. He was literally & figuratively head & shoulders above everyone today.

Would kill for him in our back line.

Far too much safe, slow passing and barely any movement in the final third.  The 2 wingbacks in particular were in loads of space on many occasions, but instead of driving forward, almost always came back inside passing back to the centre back who'd just passed to them!    So in the end wright and Wilson-Brown were forced to cross/lump it on to Flints head.

It's early days and walsall are well organised, so not too concerned although think we need another RWB with Mcgregor as Snowdon doesn't look ready.

Didn't see the game and this thread often a useful barometer. To see 'none of the above', who seemed to figure so frequently under Kennedy now appear it's ugly head again doesn't make good reading.

I'm not sure what to put here to be honest.

- Ripley: A Walsall attacker stood in his way prior to the free kick to make sure he couldn't line up the wall properly. Ripley then stood in the wrong place for the freekick and couldn't cover to his left. Proper wall and keeper positioning would have prevented their goal
- Tabor looked lively when he came on - for about 10 mins
- Glatzel too, but he just can't kick the ball where he wants it to go.
- Munroe looked to offer something, but, crossing was poor. Annoyed me that he kept getting the ball and passing back to Wright.
- Ameen buzzed, but didn't get on the ball enough and didnt do enough with it.
- Wright hit a good penalty
- None of the midfield found space and spent the entire game getting in eachother's way. Slow sideways passing and booming crossfield balls wasn't what was required
- Oliver Mackey did his best for us. The sending off was justified. But the penalty? Not a chance was that a penalty. Having said that, he saw a couple of non-existant fouls. One by Drinan, when he poked the ball off a defender in the box and was clean through.

Slow, labouring rubbish! Got what we deserved from that game.
 

I dont ever give to none of the above even if its deserved.

I felt Munroe offered is some good stuff down the left so I voted for him, he made a couple of good interceptions too but needs to improve his crossing.

For me though what showed up most was not the lack of effort so much as absolute lack of creativity and quality and not taking a risk on a shot against a keeper who loved to flap at crosses.

Munroe was my mom. Can't be anyone from that starting midfield, obviously. And the front players couldn't get into the game
