Let's see how this compares to the match-by-match votes. Candidates are anyone whose played 10 games are more (28 players!) this season. Three votes per person, you don't need to use them all. Can explain your vote below if you wish.

Can't imagine anyone's changing their vote based on MK on the final day!

Gone for Will Wright, Harry Smith and Gavin Kilkenny and I doubt it will be close beyond those three

Clarke is probably the fourth member of the group I expect to run away with it.

There's one guy I expect to get very few votes who has *a lot* of matchday votes.

We're definitely better with him but don't think he has been available enough for a PotS vote (imo)

Seeing the poll reminded me that Drinan is still a player here. Shame he got injured.

I went Wright based on his consistency, not only in performances but availabilty.  Kilkenny is the player making us tick at the moment, but started slow, Smith is key to our forward play but was missing for a chunk of games early on, and Clarke has not been available enough.

Agree that beyond those 4 though there are few to select based on the entire season - positive is that all 4 of those are contracted for next year.  Outside shouts are McGregor and Kirkman, but again stop/start seasons due to injury.

That was my three but a whole bunch of other players have been very solid in the second half of the season (I've written off the Kennedy debacle in my mind)

Can’t disagree with the names being mentioned but also think we nearly always look better with Ofoborh in the side.

Delaney has a very solid purple patch between injuries.

I’m also amazed some of those listed actually played 10 games.

Barden, Minturn, Hall, King, McGurk

All competitions, including subs, although Barden has twelve full league games. McGurk only started one league game.

Smith for obvious reasons
Ofoborh for the strength he brings to the middle of the park when playing
Ripley as he completely changed how solid the backline looks

Kirkman?

Got to be Smith for me. The comeback after Barrow away and the red card to being our best player in most games. A lot of goals and some good performances at centre half, think he's been excellent.

Straight fight between Wright and Smith for me. Both deserving winners, but Wright edges it for doing it for the entire season.

Smith.
A well deserved rest coming up for him after a physical battle week in week out.

Kilkenny & Wright have been the other 2 standout performers for consistency.

Couldn't vote for Wright when taking the goals against column into account.

We'll need a settled CB pairing next season that can play 35-40 games together.

Ripley for me,  changed the goals against enormously.

If we had Ripley from the start of the season he would definately been a candidate.

Harry Smith for me. With Will Wright in second followed by a group of players battling for third place.

What's most impressive for me regarding Smith is that huge shift from getting sent off October / November time. I spoke to my wife and son at the time saying that I never wanted 'that aggressive prick' playing for Town ever again - he didn't offer anything positive to the team. What an immense change in attitude and performance that has not only changed his game, but has also had a massive positive impact on the rest of the team. I'm more than happy to hold my hands up and say that I was completely wrong! Well done Harry  :clap:

And in another example of where I'm wrong, I had Sobowale as player of the season back in November, but since then he's fallen off badly and, as others on here have mentioned in other discussions, he's one of few players who have not improved since Holloway came in.

There's your guy who is very high in the matchday voting. 3/4 of his votes came from before the Colchester debacle, he was well clear at that point and very few votes since.

Hon mentions to Kirkman, Ofoborh and McGregor. (Drinan might have got one had he carried the same form and not got injured. Sobowale would have too if he hadn’t pee’d on Holloway’s Cornflakes or something!

A lot of us thought that tbf. And he's still a bit agro, but he's getting it on the right side of the law - just.

What's impressed me most is his play is far more than just a head on a stick. Really does lead the line well.

Sobo is unfortunate as he was a bright spot in out clust**k start. I do think he's limited in football skill but his pace and determination often get him out of trouble. I guess Ollie doesn't rate him for whatever reason - can see him moving on if the oppertunity arises.

Will was ahead for me for most of the season but I feel like Arry has just nudged ahead though in the last few weeks. Both tremendous signings though...

Innit. Think I even posted saying I don't want to see him play for Town again, then Ollie works his magic and he turns into a proper leader on the pitch. Genuinely captain material now.

This in a nutshell. One of those situations where the change of a manager thankfully worked wonders.
