Didn’t watch the whole thing, but was fun to look at some of the places I’ve missed since moving to the states. The Donkey was my primary watering hole, as long as I hadn’t fallen out with the previous landlord, which I was sporadically prone to do. Even did a few shifts there which was great, as I could pay myself what I felt I was owed and could drink for free all night.

The Launderette is quality. If you haven’t been before I highly recommend it. Not a fan of cocktails usually but you can’t help but be pulled into the whole ‘vibe’. It’s a real gem.

I assume the Kings was in the video later on too which I have a real affiliation for, having built up and run the quiz there for a few years before it was cruelly scuppered by covid. Did continue afterwards but it was never the same.

He ran out of time to do the Kings and finished in Route 66 but did say there was still much more to explore.
I never knew the Launderette existed and as you say a hidden little gem!

You should go in when you get the chance Jimmy, it’s awesome. You get given a password when you book which you need to yell into an innocuous looking box of Surf by the entrance. Then a secret door opens leading you into what is made to look like a speakeasy. But posh.

Ten quid a cocktail is a steal when made by mixologists. When me and my ex went in I had an old fashioned, a cocktail served in a Hulk hand and one that you have to pour into a bowl of coco pops. Really unique place.

Thanks Qunk, up until the video I didn’t know it existed and seems well worth a visit👌
