Title: Carlisle v Swindon MotM Thread
Post by: Nemo on Saturday, February 1, 2025, 16:54:18
Carlisle had 60% possession, more shots, more passes, more accurate passes, more corners... and got stuffed. Lovely stuff.

Don't think Mike Williamson will have a good week.

Counter attacking with ten strikers on the pitch turns out to work better than I'd imagine!

Drinan. But all the subs on 74mins did well. Tshimanga probably the best of those three. First time I haven't seen him just fall over. I think he's found his role at this club as an impact sub. Looked to have tweaked his hammy a smidge though. Hopefully that can be massaged out.

Drinan all day though

I'm so glad all Drinan's hard work & non-stop running is finally being rewarded with wins.

Has to be Drinan. He turned the game for us and he scored two goals!

Wouldn't have thought we'd ever be better with him than without him, but his workrate and endeavour makes us tick!

Agreed. He's consistently given 110% from day one...

Didn't watch today but I've just added to the Drinan love anyway.

The bloke works fucking hard and often doesn't get the rewards, so it's his today.

Drinan impressively.  Butterworth a v. influential first half.  Nnamdi a rock.

Blimey, that's unanimous so far. One more vote from me, cracking performance from Drinan.

Drinan, fully deserving of some love this evening.

Voted for Drinan, but another game where pretty much everyone was at least a 6 or 7 out of 10.

That seems to be the definition of a Holloway team, all pretty good but often nobody outstanding.

The obvious choice is the right one for me, but I love the fact that none of the above isn't getting a look in.   He was Kennedys best player.

In many ways, Aaron Drinan’s goal at home to Colchester to equalise - a great bit of work to control and finish - was the catalyst for the recent run of form. I’m not sure he’ll ever be prolific enough in a 2, but in a 3, he is always going to occupy two defenders because of his sheer hard work, direct running and strength. That opens things up for the other two strikers.

He needs a song.

Good to see Drinan getting the votes, thoroughly deserved. Whether he was proving a point to IH or not I have always appreciated his work ethic, never going to be a major goal machine but the type of player every side needs at this level.

Aaron Drinan’

He needs a song.
Absolutely he does, I was reading the thread thinking exactly that.
He never gives up running and chases everything

Never gonna give it up
Always gonna chase it down
Always gonna run around

Not sure how you get Drinan in...

I reckon you could make something work to 'Sit Down' by James.

OH Drinan, OH Drinan, sprinting down the wing
Drinan, nan nan nan nan nan nan, love the goals that you bring.

Terrible lyrically clearly but I'm sure can be adapted/improved.

There was a song at Notts County, along the lines of Drinaldo :)

Drinan followed by Ofoborh for his defensive work covering the CB's and Kilkenny.

When the ball hits the goal, it's not Shearer or Cole, It's Drinaldo?

I have always loved Drinans effort, he always gives 10/10 for effort, but usually his quality is more like 4/10 but that showed he has it in him to be decent at this level, just get the consistancy and maybe there really is a player in "Murph".
