Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: Batch on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 17:45:08 Offy, Sobo, Drinan, Smith all in running for me, but nobody stood out good or bad that much.
Think I'm going Sobo Delaney also good Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: Nomoreheroes on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 17:47:30 Offy, Sobo, Drinan, Smith all in running for me, but nobody stood out good or bad that much. I agree with that shortlist, although I'd say that Drinan ran a lot, but was ineffective until the second half of the second half!Think I'm going Sobo Delaney also good Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: Boydy on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 17:59:35 There was a real lack of quality & composure throughout the entire team today.
Delaney was the most composed & was a big reason for the clean sheet. Ofoborh was absolutely everywhere to win the ball back. It's nice to get a win despite not being able to string 3 passes together though. Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: Ƭ̵̬̊: The Artist Formerly Known as CWIG on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 18:34:57 Sobowale or Ofoborh for me. Those two were a cut above the rest but solid all round.
Went for Sobowale but its hard to split those two. Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: Cookie on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 18:50:49 Kilkenny was good, so him.
Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: Bogus Dave on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 19:30:00 Kilkenny for me, honourable mentions to Delaney and drinan
Surprised sobowale got so much love, thought he was dog toss Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: Nomoreheroes on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 20:02:20 Think I’ll go for Sobowale (after thinking about it for a bit).
He looks to have learned from mistakes he has made. He took no chances in defence and look to take a little more responsibility to cross the ball. Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: jayohaitchenn on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 21:02:11 Ofoborh was tidy and scored a great goal, so him.
Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: Nemo on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 21:25:39 Not sure we've had a four way race for a while, this is fun.
Fwiw Whoscored have it Kilkenny by a nose from Smith with Delaney, Wright and Ofoborh not far behind. Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: RedRag on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 22:39:05 Ofoborh again for me. With immense credit to the defenders themselves inc. Delaney, Nnamdi was a real factor in us securing a 2nd consecutive L2 clean sheet. And of course a decent shot to open the scoring.
I did wonder if the ball was doing something in the air - even if there could have been a slight puncture or similar - as I felt the keeper was odds on to tip that shot round the post or away. Had he been positioned properly, it would have been a comfortable save. I think Ofoborh looked up and saw that, which is why he leathered it.I did wonder if the ball was doing something in the air - even if there could have been a slight puncture or similar - as I felt the keeper was odds on to tip that shot round the post or away. Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: DV on Sunday, January 19, 2025, 08:53:08 Ofoborh was solid. Decent hit too.
We scored more yesterday past their keeper than we did past their outfield player in goal. Thought Kilkenny was tidy in the middle & used the ball relatively well on a day when our passing wasn’t as good as it can be. Not sure I’d concur that Sobowale was particularly great tbh. Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: Wobbly Bob on Sunday, January 19, 2025, 09:16:30 Another "all of the above" type performance.
The sympathy vote goes to Drinan as I sit next to an overly harsh critic of his efforts. I do like Sobowale. Gives it everything and in return we get to see the good, the bad & the ugly and everything in between. Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: Peter Venkman on Sunday, January 19, 2025, 10:15:09 Ofoborh, Kilkenny, Smith, Delaney and Sobo all in with a shout but I went for Offy for his goal as well as his overall play.
Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: Batch on Sunday, January 19, 2025, 11:09:26 The only person I was a little disappointed with was Nichols. We simply couldn't get him into the game.
Don't misconstrue that, he needs game time and we need to learn how he plays. Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: Peter Venkman on Sunday, January 19, 2025, 11:19:19 The only person I was a little disappointed with was Nichols. We simply couldn't get him into the game. Nichols did a bit of dirty work chasing balls and players but he doesnt look fit at all yet, he linked up well with Smith early on but went missing as he tired in the 2nd half.Don't misconstrue that, he needs game time and we need to learn how he plays. I still think hes a better option than Butterworth but I would love to see a speedy option up front for us. Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: Boydy on Sunday, January 19, 2025, 13:03:40 From what I've seen so far I think Nichols will be most dangerous if we can get some out & out wingers in.
Think that'll allow him to recycle play out to them and also get onto the knockdowns from Smith. With our current set up he'll do ok as an experienced head but he won't get much of a chance to create space for himself. Title: Re: Swindon v Barrow MotM Thread Post by: Nemo on Sunday, January 19, 2025, 13:21:51 Don't hate it considering our position in the table but it does feel like we've found the only hard work and industry number 10 in football. Holloway really isn't a guy for flair players who fade in and out of games is he.
