Title: Re: Swindon v Grimsby MoM Thread Post by: DV on Saturday, December 21, 2024, 17:07:08 Don’t think anyone really stood out on either end of the scale.
A lot of decent performances but probably not outstanding ones. Clarke was good. Smith was good. Tshimanga took his goals well. Cox was good. Cotterill looked like a tidy footballer for the first time today as well imo Title: Re: Swindon v Grimsby MoM Thread Post by: Ƭ̵̬̊: The Artist Formerly Known as CWIG on Saturday, December 21, 2024, 17:09:25 Don’t think anyone really stood out on either end of the scale. Cotterill looked like a tidy footballer for the first time today as well imo Yeah this is fair. Like said above, a lot of 7/10s which I couldn't be more pleased with. Title: Re: Swindon v Grimsby MoM Thread Post by: Cookie on Saturday, December 21, 2024, 17:43:21 Clarke for me, made a big difference in the middle.
Title: Re: Swindon v Grimsby MoM Thread Post by: Batch on Saturday, December 21, 2024, 17:48:34 Clarke all day long. Recently showing us the player we thought we'd signed.
But though I'm not a massive fan, Tishmanga also earned his crust for the first time in ages. A really really good team performance to be frank. So badly needed, 2 home wins on the spin Title: Re: Swindon v Grimsby MoM Thread Post by: jayohaitchenn on Saturday, December 21, 2024, 19:00:04 Fuck it, i'm voting Tshimanga Same, thought he was very good in the first half. Clarke close second. I'd be interested to see how many of our points we have got while he has been playing. Title: Re: Swindon v Grimsby MoM Thread Post by: Ƭ̵̬̊: The Artist Formerly Known as CWIG on Saturday, December 21, 2024, 19:02:22 He did so well for the first goal and creating the situation. Second he took well, could have had a third with hitting the post.
I can't believe I'm here voting for him, but he genuinely had a very good game. Title: Re: Swindon v Grimsby MoM Thread Post by: No Longer Posh Red on Saturday, December 21, 2024, 19:53:20 It’s hard to not give it to a striker that scores two, but Ollie Clarke was a clear MOTM
Title: Re: Swindon v Grimsby MoM Thread Post by: Nomoreheroes on Saturday, December 21, 2024, 20:38:01 I think that all the contenders have been mentioned:
Tshimanga had his best game for us. Took 2 goals well, closed, tackled and won balls back. But, still fell over a bit and his passing speed of thought were a little off. (One comical moment in the corner by the Stratton Bank and DRS. He was on his own, couldn’t work out what to do, lost balance and let the ball run out. But, I really hope he kicks on from here. Clarke made everything tick and his goal after 3 mins set the tone for the day and gave everyone confidence. Cotterill looked a complete player today. Ran hard, tackled, passed well and was a threat going forward. Think I’m going to go for Tshimanga as his performance was out of character, while Clarke seems to do that lots and Cotterill has had a couple of good games too! Well done Kabongo! Plus a tidy lay off that Cotterill should've scored Title: Re: Swindon v Grimsby MoM Thread Post by: Nemo on Saturday, December 21, 2024, 20:48:27 Not mom but thought Wright's deliveries were very good and worth a mention
Title: Re: Swindon v Grimsby MoM Thread Post by: Bogus Dave on Saturday, December 21, 2024, 21:28:42 Same, thought he was very good in the first half. Clarke close second. I'd be interested to see how many of our points we have got while he has been playing. 13 points in 11 games with him, 6 in 10 without. Like, we’re not world beaters with him by any stretch, but there’s definite improvement Tshimanga motm for me, not just for the two goals but in the first half particular his man marking of mceachran stopped Grimsby from being able to play out from the back and ever really get comfortable Title: Re: Swindon v Grimsby MoM Thread Post by: jayohaitchenn on Sunday, December 22, 2024, 06:16:05 13 points in 11 games with him, 6 in 10 without. Much needed and hopefully will be a springboard to take us up the league.
Title: Re: Swindon v Grimsby MoM Thread Post by: Leggett on Sunday, December 22, 2024, 09:17:42 Tshimanga for me, Clarke a close second. Both involved in plenty, whole team looked up for it pretty much but they were the standouts.
Title: Re: Swindon v Grimsby MoM Thread Post by: Wobbly Bob on Sunday, December 22, 2024, 09:31:02 Another vote for Tshimanga.
Falling over a few times during a game can be forgiven if he can maintain that level until January & beyond if he stays. Watching Clarke when waiting for Grimsby to restart the game & he moved Sobowale to a more forward position & sure enough about 5 seconds later the ball breaks to exactly that spot. If he can stay fit then a bit more confident that we'll be able to edge towards safety. Title: Re: Swindon v Grimsby MoM Thread Post by: Boydy on Monday, December 23, 2024, 19:08:01 Clarke & Tshimanga both deserved winners but it's so nice that I could understand any of the starters being voted for. A really hard working performance all round yesterday.
