Title: New Manager thread
Post by: swindonmaniac on Friday, November 1, 2024, 08:23:32
I see according to the media this morning we could be up with another FA charge.
Holloway appears to have broken rule 4.1 which states ‘ An FA registered football agent may only perform football Agent Services for a player, coach or club’  He admits he took the job without signing a contract with an agent.
So, here we go again,
Who’d be a Swindon Fan ??.

Surely you don't *have* to have an agent? Isn't the rule just that your agent (if you have one) has to be registered with the FA?

This appears to be the story in question. Seems to suggest more that the same agent may have been acting for the club and the manager? It's not really clear to be honest what the issue is from the story.

Probably used Zav Austin.

Probably used Zav Austin.

He was just a guest at the contract signing. Just a guest.

There's no regulations that state you must have an agent, nor do you need one with a contract.

There might be something in a probe happening (I'd personally probe everything this club does) but I don't see how that could be the issue. Maybe it's who WE had there, but again I couldn't find anything in regulations that said we absolutely must have someone officially part of the club.

EDIT - Some thing I've found. Any agent that's used has to be registered with the FA, and clubs must declare any agents involved in any negotiations and any third party must have their role documented and registered with the FA. Perhaps this might be what was breached.

I'm not sure you do - I'm sure KBD doesn't, he just uses a lawyer to gloss over his contracts.

Maybe used Michael Standing then!

If there was anything there, getting ourselves in trouble for something released on the club's official YouTube channel would be a very impressive fuck up.

I cant imagine anyone would not have an agent, appoint one that evening and then have them brokering a deal within that evening. Surely it would be someone you know and not Michael Standing off the street

4.1. An FA Registered Football Agent may only perform Football Agent Services for a Player, Coach or
Club after having entered into a Representation Agreement with that Player, Coach or Club.

Relentless isn't it

I said at the time the whole thing seemed very weird there was no consistency in his agent story at all.

I reckon its bollocks and he doesn't want to seem like he was tapping up the town job well in advance of Kennedys sacking.

Nothing illegal about that but people might think he was a bit of a cunt.

Hope you are right. Just sounded really weird, he got a call from a mate who said let's meet up tonight then there's an agent there who basically gave him the job.

Hope it is all nothing but unfortunately just expecting the worse most the time :-(

I reckon we should have the Eastenders closing tune at the end of each game.
