Title: Cheltenham Festival 2024 & 2025
Post by: Quagmire on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, 09:19:24
The best week of horse racing in the world is here  :pint:

A few of my main fancies for today have either moved races or aren’t running, so I haven’t gone big on any of these, but below are today’s picks.

1:30 - Firefox
2:10 - Found A Fifty
2:50 - MeetingOfTheWaters
3:30 - State Man (Short odds. Really like the betting without State Man market and going for Irish Point at 13/8. He was my strong fancy for the week in The Stayers Hurdle until they moved it)
4:10 - Lossiemouth
4:50 - Liari
5:30 - Embassy Gardens

I have 4 of the above in a Yankee, the 2 short price favourites in a double and Liari as a single.

Good luck all.

If anyone is local to the Nine Elms in Shaw, they are open from 1pm and have London Pride on @ £4 a pint.

BREAKING NEWS:

UGLY SCENES at Cheltenham as thousands of sockless 'men' arrive wearing checked suits that are a size too small in the jacket and two sizes too small in the trouser. Bare ankles and baker boy hats have caused an outbreak of mass nausea.

Went yesterday, still a decent day out although the coke market is pretty brazen and getting out of control there. Maybe i'm just getting old and grumpy as i'm past the stage of partaking in the occasional Class A for social fun

A winner and couple of places meant i was generally even for day.......until you account for the booze!

I'm the most boring person on the planet, but I've never seen the appeal of coke personally. Generally the people that are out of their face on it are just really irritating. Each to their own (as long as they stay out my way! :) )

Who needs drugs?

* that's not an offer by the way, I'm questioning why people bother. I can make my own enjoyment.   :)

It's just a normal part of society these days.

You could say the same about Alcohol, who needs that? Tea teetotallers can make their own enjoyment.....apparently

Been given a little wink towards Gaassee in the 8:30 at Kempton tonight.

Hopefully increase the funds before Cheltenham on Tuesday.

Not long now chaps…..

Picks for tomorrow are:

1:20 - Kopek Des Bordes
2:00 - Marjborough
2:40 - Henry’s Friend
3:20 - Lossiemouth
4:00 - Still can’t pick between Constitution Hill and Brighterdaysahead
4:40 - Beyond Your Dreams
5:20 - Transmission

Bet wise, I have Kopek Des Bordes and Marjborough in a double that pays £380.
The above 2 and Lossiemouth in a treble for £400.
And Henry’s Friend, Beyond Your Dreams and Transmission in an each way Trixie.

Fingers crossed, and good luck all.

Its been a bit meh hasn't it, the shambolic starting not helping (a combination of the jockeys and the starter being to blame for that!)

Like Pinot Gris in the 14.00. Done e/w @ 17.0.

Out of interest, how is the Prize money for a winning Horse distributed?

Presumably it's divvied up between owner, trainer and jockey?

I saw Brighton's owner Tony Bloom was the owner of the 100/1 winner in the first race. I bet even his shits smell of spring flowers, he can literally do no wrong when it comes to being successful in sport!

Vast majority goes to owner, much smaller slices to trainer/jockey.
