Seems almost pointless after what happened but for me Austin made things happen when he came on, otherwise McCarthy.

McCarthy was solid all game. I hope we can keep him!

Austin was superb in link up. He should have scored at least one himself.

McCarthy, that challenge in the second half was a goal saver and he’s the only thing holding our backline together. Zero chance we’ll be able to keep him as surely a club with some kind of ambition will come calling.

If Barnsley can go up I doubt he’d be in their plans in the Championship. Maybe he likes the Paddy cabal at the CG.

He is very good, though.

Has to be McCarthy.  Played well himself and organises others.

If we could have managed McCarthy and Kemp in the same team and at the same time, we really might have gone up this year. So it goes.

FBT looks so much better next to him. He has a strange ability to play exactly as well as his defensive partner, whoever that is.

McCarthy along with Kemp & Young are gonna make up our top three in the end of season POTS vote….

Which, is, a - sad.

I didn't see enough of Saturday's game to be able to vote, but from the bits I did see -

McCarthy and FBT seemed to play well. I heard McCarthy got the sponsors man of the match. I thought of the 3 forwards subbed on, Charlie's impact was the most impressive. Good, intelligent hold up play and got the crucial assist. Harry was sharp and there always is a buzz about the place when he gets on the ball. Worked well with Kokolo on the overlap consistently, that's something to keep an eye on and will certainly keep opposition defences on their toes. Drinan disappointing again.

Thought Drinnan did well - back pass aside. Actually held up the ball well, won a few headers from punts upfield. Seemed to be what we’ve been missing.

Must admit from the bit I saw of Drinnan I thought he looked very poor, but its way too early to judge him.

Very harsh as it's only 2 sub appearances but to me he looks a bit 'ploddy'. Hopefully once he gets settled in he'll be a good acquisition. I think it's important he offers something a bit different to other other forwards (Austin aside)
