Paid £7000 for it 4 years ago, just sold it for €7000. Its because brand new cars are being delayed being built due to covid, microchip shortages from South Korea and then the shortage of parking sensors from Ukraine over the last 2 years having a knock on effect. It is affecting EVERY car manufacturer in the World bar China.Then added to that is the delivery problems from the docks on import to the dealers because of a lack of lorry drivers. People arent getting new cars very fast so there is naturally a shortage of old cars on the market so the price goes up. I ordered my brand new Vauxhall Grandland Ultimate 13 months ago and had a message this week saying its stuck in Tilbury docks waiting for distribution to Somerset before I can get it, normally you get a brand new car in about 12 weeks from order but its between 12 and 18 months now! At least it will be a 23 plate now and not a 72 plate. The value to the dealership to buy it from me was larger than the amount I had to pay off to own it, so I earned $4k by handing it back early! Just make sure you check the cars history, MOT etc. Do your homework. If you think it's dodgy, simply walk away.
