Sorry can't help. There maybe some on the REF that can offer their professional advice though :) Title: Re: Wills Post by: horlock07 on Thursday, March 4, 2021, 17:29:51 No, not Sir Seton or SuggWillSugg MBE. I first read that as saying you wanted someone to draw up a will for your wife only and I thought it was rather suspicious... :D ;) Sorry cannot help, albeit it has reminded me once again that I and the missus should probably do likewise. There's an initiative called will aid that normally runs in November where some solicitors do the wills for a donation to charity. It was £180 for mirror wills. I also think various charities have similar hook ups with solicitors. Prospect used to, bit sure who though. Title: Re: Wills Post by: Chunkyhair on Thursday, March 4, 2021, 18:44:06 Would only suggest any local solicitor with a good rep (not very helpful I know - mine was done by an old mate who is a solicitor who did our conveyancing as well, small family firm but not local), but I would recommend avoiding the "professional will writing services", have heard they can be a bit dodgy and actually end up costing you more than getting it done properly.
Title: Re: Wills Post by: JBZ on Thursday, March 4, 2021, 18:45:07 I would recommend using a solicitor

All perfectly legit. Title: Re: Wills Post by: Ginginho on Thursday, March 4, 2021, 19:03:29 Are you a member of a union? Most have will writing services built in No mate, thanks though. Title: Re: Wills Post by: RedRag on Thursday, March 4, 2021, 23:14:51 The best qualified professional guidance may come from a solicitor who is a registered "TEP" or Trust and Estate Practitioner. They are "specialists" in a way that Will writers are not truly.
They are likely to charge upper range fees, so it's horses for courses but it's a meaningful qualification. Exceptionally, some Will writers will have the qualification. Title: Re: Wills Post by: Samdy Gray on Friday, March 5, 2021, 06:59:00 PM'd you some details Ginginho. If you've straightforward circumstances, a will writer is perfectly fine. More complex, use a solicitor.
