Spelled or spelt, though? I wasn't referring to hulled wheat so it was 'spelled'! :DTitle: Re: Words that bring a smile to your face Post by: Ginginho on Thursday, March 5, 2020, 21:50:34 Haberdashery

I like it not just because it has a nice ring to it, but also because it has a nice, warm and fuzzy meaning. I used to work with a lovely Kiwi girl and in my professional life she is the only person (male or female) who would ever use that word in a professional meeting environment Title: Re: Words that bring a smile to your face Post by: Reg Smeeton on Friday, March 6, 2020, 14:35:17 Agog is a great word. Many years ago, I went to look for the Gog Magog Hills.... these are near Cambridge. I say look because at 75 m above sea level, they're not very prominent. In fact on a par with the lowest high point of any European state. :hmmm: I was on the trail of lost hill figures claimed by the Cambridge academic and dowser Tom Lethbridge to be there, a bit like our lost hill figures at Foxhill. I'm not convinced I found the hills and certainly no sign of hill figures therein. Still a great name though.... known locally as the Gogs.
