So have just booked a trip to LA & Vegas leaving Heathrow christmas day. Cheap and airport will be fucking deserted. Bliss. Getting to miss whoever we are getting dicked by at home on Boxing day is an additional bonus!!! Title: Re: Christmas Post by: Panda Paws on Monday, November 9, 2015, 10:21:27 Christmas is awesome, and we've got the Pikey's at home BD.
Title: Re: Christmas Post by: Sippo on Monday, November 9, 2015, 10:22:04 I'm not a big fan, but gives you a different prospective when you have kids especially young ones.
I don't like people putting up decorations before december mind. Title: Re: Christmas Post by: Batch on Monday, November 9, 2015, 10:27:07 Fuck off with this thread, its November 9th.
Christmas should be kept for December, Title: Re: Christmas Post by: fittons_coaching_badge on Monday, November 9, 2015, 10:37:17 I saw an easter egg section on my local tesco yesterday.
Title: Re: Christmas Post by: 4D on Monday, November 9, 2015, 11:00:59 I saw an easter egg section on my local tesco yesterday. How many did you buy? Title: Re: Christmas Post by: fittons_coaching_badge on Monday, November 9, 2015, 11:34:24 2 and both were gone within 2 hours! :D
Title: Re: Christmas Post by: Ƭ̵̬̊: The Artist Formerly Known as CWIG on Monday, November 9, 2015, 13:51:37 I never thought about flying out somewhere actually on Christmas day. How much cheaper than normal are we talking? Might be a thought for next year.
Title: Re: Christmas Post by: fittons_coaching_badge on Monday, November 9, 2015, 15:34:32 I never thought about flying out somewhere actually on Christmas day. How much cheaper than normal are we talking? Might be a thought for next year. 2 BA return flights to LA £400 each. Added to fact LHR will be deserted and I will almost certainly have a whole row to myself on the plane. Title: Re: Christmas Post by: suttonred on Monday, November 9, 2015, 16:33:38 Not forgetting the 8 xmas dinners you'll get.
Title: Re: Christmas Post by: fittons_coaching_badge on Monday, November 9, 2015, 16:34:58 Not forgetting the 8 xmas dinners you'll get. And the BBQ on the beach when I get there!!!!! Title: Re: Christmas Post by: suttonred on Monday, November 9, 2015, 16:36:55 Did it a few years ago. Nice bit of seared tuna for xmas dinner.
Title: Re: Christmas Post by: Flashheart on Monday, November 9, 2015, 16:51:10 If I get my own way I'll spend Christmas day drinking beer on an Island somewhere, which would be fantastic.
Title: Re: Christmas Post by: Skinny Pete on Monday, November 9, 2015, 16:52:02 Nobody will be surprised to know I fucking hate Xmas.
Boxing Day is fine with football and booze but Xmas Day is a turd on a stick Title: Re: Christmas Post by: 4D on Monday, November 9, 2015, 16:55:57 Can you have postman plod as your avatar please Audrey? :)
Title: Re: Christmas Post by: Costanza on Monday, November 9, 2015, 17:07:57 A thread titled Christmas to brag about a cheap holiday.
I like Christmas and this year the Bank Holidays are situated quite nicely. Title: Re: Christmas Post by: tans on Monday, November 9, 2015, 17:34:55 Hate it. Think its a massive pile of shit. Ah Christmas day on the Isle of Wight! Title: Re: Christmas Post by: RobertT on Monday, November 9, 2015, 17:41:42 I love Christmas, over indulgence at it's best. Off to New York for new years eve though, not for Times Square, more it was relatively cheap and we'll be meeting up with friends over there.
Title: Re: Christmas Post by: Ardiles on Monday, November 9, 2015, 18:38:01 Im on a plane to New Zealand on christmas day, cant fucking wait If you fly east (ie via the USA, instead of Dubai, Singapore etc.) and get the timing right, you'll be able to cross the International Date Line at just the right moment and miss Christmas Day all together. Title: Re: Christmas Post by: 4D on Monday, November 9, 2015, 18:40:37 Was geography one of your chosen subjects Ardiles? :D
Title: Re: Christmas Post by: Batch on Monday, November 9, 2015, 19:09:33 Was geography one of your chosen subjects Ardiles? :D If you fly east for long enough ... Title: Re: Christmas Post by: Sippo on Monday, November 9, 2015, 19:42:13 I'd rather go to my mother in law's and not drink, rather than somewhere where's it's quiet...
Title: Re: Christmas Post by: EldeneRed on Monday, November 9, 2015, 20:02:21 I spent Christmas on the Isle of Wight once....
It was shit. Title: Re: Christmas Post by: sonicyouth on Monday, November 9, 2015, 22:11:11 Christmas in Norway is best.
Title: Re: Christmas Post by: janaage on Monday, November 9, 2015, 23:14:43 2 BA return flights to LA £400 each. Added to fact LHR will be deserted and I will almost certainly have a whole row to myself on the plane. I wouldn't be so sure. We flew to Rio via Washington DC on Christmas day on year, heathrow wasn't that quiet and the plane wasn't that empty either. Motorway was quiet though, as was DC when we got a cab to show is the sights rather than be sat waiting for our connecting flight. Title: Re: Christmas Post by: 4D on Monday, November 9, 2015, 23:38:02 Christmas in Norway is best. You're homesick, aren't you? Title: Re: Christmas Post by: EldeneRed on Monday, November 9, 2015, 23:43:53 Christmas is all about the food and drink. Got to love that Winter feasting.
Title: Re: Christmas Post by: THE FLASH on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, 07:44:54 Great when the kids are young...after that...
I love New Year. Title: Re: Christmas Post by: Ardiles on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, 07:54:57 Was geography one of your chosen subjects Ardiles? :D Oh dear. Meant 'west', obviously. :-[ Christmas in Norway is best. The Christmas we had in Sweden last year was the best I can remember. Completely magical. I have missed the place ever since. Title: Re: Christmas Post by: 4D on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, 09:07:02 Great when the kids are young...after that... I love New Year. I find the whole new year thing a bit tedious. More fireworks (that'll please Audrey), pubs rammed etc. Rather stay in and watch the bands on the telly. Title: Re: Christmas Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, 09:08:17 Christmas in Australia was weird - made me appreciate Christmas back at home.
Working in a primary school at Christmas is ace! Really gets you in the spirit! One of our male teachers dresses as Santa and visits the reception class and they are always SO excited! Love it when they are that age and still believe! Title: Re: Christmas Post by: inept and tiresome on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, 11:37:51 Into my 60s now and I still love Xmas, even the Town wont piss me off.
Good will and peace to all men on earth. Merry Christmas all. Title: Re: Christmas Post by: jayohaitchenn on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, 14:32:01 Into my 60s now and I still love Xmas, even the Town wont piss me off. Good will and peace to all men on earth. Merry Christmas all. Did not expect that. Title: Re: Christmas Post by: DarloSTFC84 on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, 14:34:46 Love it, when I can.
This year I finish on Christmas morning for my 5 days off... I've worked 11 of the last 12 Christmases which sucks. Next year I'm actually rostered off, which will probably change, knowing my luck. Title: Re: Christmas Post by: sonicyouth on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, 21:59:19 The Christmas we had in Sweden last year was the best I can remember. Completely magical. I have missed the place ever since. I went to Stockholm just before Christmas a few years ago and it was great. The Scandinavians really do Christmas damn well, start on the 23rd, invent something for the boring bit in between Christmas and New year (romjulen) and snow always improves thing. Did not expect that. Nor me. I thought he'd be older. |
