Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: reeves4england on Saturday, August 27, 2005, 20:05:14 A car went by us near J16 with a sign in the window saying "Swindon are wankers" after the game.
If I had a pen and paper I would have been tempted to write my own saying "because their wives are from Yeovil" Then the sign moved and a rather good looking young lass in a green shirt appeared  Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: walrus on Saturday, August 27, 2005, 20:28:38 I noticed some of the Yeovil Fans being a bit lary on my way up to J15 or wherever it is to join the M4, so I generally just pointed and laughed.
The worst case of post-football match rage was following the Forest game, a car didn't give way to me and instead engaged in a game of chicken. I would have pussied out, but being otherwise engaged with the CD Player ended up both of us going through an impossibly narrow gap, with my wing mirror scraping down the side of a parked car (no damage fortunately to either car!). After the 2-1 defeat at Ashton Gate a couple of seasons ago I walked up to the bus station but got lost. I walked past a Bristol pub in my Town shirt only to be rushed by about 20 Bristol fans. They ran at me, but when they got there they just sort of sang some Wurzel song and went and sat back down... Odd! Was fucking bricking it though! Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: reeves4england on Saturday, August 27, 2005, 20:33:43 I don't think anything serious was meant by this, she did smile when she saw we'd read it. Wankers like you've mentioned would have been reaching out the window to shove it in our faces!
Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: DV on Saturday, August 27, 2005, 21:02:28 not as rude as the one in the pub before the game :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:

Whatever next? I just assumed that they wore them 7 days a week, every day of the year.
Oh, you mean it was because the shirt was pink???!!!! We proper wound them up yesterday. It was great. Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: Spud on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 12:29:47 Yeah thats quite unbeliveable, every fan of theirs had something Green on......
Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: Ralphy on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 12:36:32 I think it's just more noticeable with green.
I remember when we played Plymouth and it also looked like everyone of their fans had a shirt on, green just stands out. Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: sonicyouth on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 12:37:29 I remember the horrid away kit they had, that was sickening!
Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: Spud on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 12:39:13 Flourescent Orange, indeed it was disgusting.
Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: Melksham Red on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 12:40:05 Yeovil fans were sad as fuck. All shirters, loads of old women and kids and too much clapping. They are out of their depth and i'll be glad when they go down. They are a small town conference side. We were shit yesturday and still beat them, that speaks volumes.

Dont have any fans who remmember what things used to be like, because they basically didnt exist back when football was different. Melksham red, bang on as usual. Non league and you know you are. Always amused by people who think a sea of replica shirts is somehow an indication of good support. In my experience the opposite is true. I thought Plymouth were just very well organised. QPR surely the better footballing side. Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: Ralphy on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 12:57:40 Spencer, your right about QPR being the better footballing side but Plymouth worked better as a team.
I remember leaving the CG after the final whistle thinking ' their gonna win this league '. Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: Melksham Red on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 12:58:20 Quote Always amused by people who think a sea of replica shirts is somehow an indication of good support. In my experience the opposite is true Totally agree. Shirters are sad as fuck. Oh look at me, i'm a great fucking fan because i'm stupid and gullible enough to buy a forty quid shirt every fucking season. I wear a pin badge to show my colours and ive had it fifteen years. Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: Ralphy on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:01:55 I don't agree there Melksham, i wear a shirt to every match, does that make me sad, gullible, stupid and sad??
People who buy the shirts put alot of revenue into the club. I don't care what anyone wears to football as long as they support the side. Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: Melksham Red on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:09:48 I pay to get in, I buy a drink or two, a programe and maybe a burger. Fuck their shirts.
Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: Ralphy on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:12:36 Not saying u don't mate but there is nothing wrong with wearing the shirt :-))(
Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: Melksham Red on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:16:23 Fair enough. I just agree with Spencer White, wearing a shirt does not make a fan. You only have to see all the Manure, Arsenal and Chelsea shirters to know that. It's not about giving revenue to the club, we give enough as it is, and then they go and change the shirt every season. You are being ripped off.
Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: Ralphy on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:18:22 Thats true i agree.
I know wearing a shirt doesn't make you a fan. I wear one cos i'm proud to support Swindon. Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: Tails on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 13:18:22 I always wear a Swindon shirt. It's only £25 anyway.

Everyones got the right to wear what they want. So dont take offence. But you ought to know that not everyone has the vision of of football fans being shirt outside jumper, every bit of clubwear you can get your hands on. For me, grown men all wearing the same stuff is a bit sickly sweet and twee. Bit small town, says youve got something to prove as a Swindon fan. Not me, been going for years and always will, dont care what anyone says. Like I said, its each to their own. But the merchandise argument winds me up. Shirt = £29 1x a season. Ticket = £23 23x a season. Besides which I do buy some shirts and clubwear, but dont wear it to games. Sweating all the crap out of your body helps alot too. After a good run i sit in sauna for 20 mins to sweat all the crap out. Then a cool off swim to finish off and i drink a litre of water. Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: walrus on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 17:48:40 I fucking love being a shirter - never been to a Swindon game without a replica shirt, and always with a name on the back (apart from my first shirt and goalkeeper top). It makes me feel part of something. Plus I like lending my support to one player in particular, usually as I'm either chuffed we've signed them, or feel a bit sorry for them! (Hence Reeves last year!) :|
Did I mention I'm also gay? Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: Ralphy on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 17:50:26 Whens Curo gonna score then?
I'm regretting getting it on my shirt. Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: Bob's Orange on Sunday, August 28, 2005, 17:58:29 Last time I bothered getting names on the back of my shirt was ages ago! I'm going to get one this year though, preferably with a single digit number though! Maybe O'Hanlon, probably Fallon Title: Rather Rude Yeovil Fan Post by: McLovin on Monday, August 29, 2005, 08:17:53 The away shirt is a good shirt, and at only £7.00 it was too good to refuse.
