Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Leggett on Sunday, August 23, 2015, 22:39:01 Justin Wilson (British Indycar driver) has been airlifted to hospital after hitting debris from a crash just in front of him. God this weekend has been utterly shit for news.
Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: DarloSTFC84 on Sunday, August 23, 2015, 22:40:48 Justin Wilson (British Indycar driver) has been airlifted to hospital after hitting debris from a crash just in front of him. God this weekend has been utterly shit for news. Not good at all. Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Leggett on Sunday, August 23, 2015, 22:41:30 the nosecone was bouncing down the track and hit his helmet. gah.
Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: tans on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 09:24:48 Ty Belford organising a charity collection for Darcy Ward at saturdays game.
Adver asked for an interview with Belford about it and the club turned it down. Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Batch on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 09:30:25 that's out of order of its true. very very out of order.
Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: tans on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 09:33:36 @gazzaloz: #stfc has refused the Adver an interview with Ty Belford about his collection at Saturday's game for injured Darcy Ward.

This plus the fact that the club stopped Coops playing in a charity cricket game you'd think Power or someone at the club has a problem with charity. Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Leggett on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 10:40:23 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfO9n4sGXEw
That is utter shite if true... Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: nigel grays a postie on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 11:13:42 More bad PR that The Adver will no doubt revel in publicising by running the story anyway, and amending their usual The Adver weren't allowed to attend post match interview to we asked Ty Belford for an interview but STFC wouldn't allow him to do one.
Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Power to people on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 11:54:20 This plus the fact that the club stopped Coops playing in a charity cricket game you'd think Power or someone at the club has a problem with charity. Just a problem with written press full stop regardless of story - Radio was probably phoned and told to do the story Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Batch on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 12:19:57 Just a problem with written press full stop regardless of story - Radio was probably phoned and told to do the story Yes, blanket ban, no exceptions it seems. But very petty in this case. It'll be well enough publicised that it doesn't matter in anything other than the principle and complete lack of morality on STFCs part. Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: theakston2k on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 14:59:46 Yes, blanket ban, no exceptions it seems. But very petty in this case. Power has made it pretty clear he won't deal with Gary Lawrence under any circumstances which isn't really much of a surprise as Lawrence has always come across as a bit of a cock who has always enjoyed having digs at the club. It'll be well enough publicised that it doesn't matter in anything other than the principle and complete lack of morality on STFCs part. This whole media issue started back when Morshead was employed by the Adver and leaked the team sheet for the match against Peterborough a few years ago (and they changed their line up) which is probably part of the reason why the other outlets are banned as well. The charity thing is probably a step too far but a blanket ban is a blanket ban I guess.... Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Skinny Pete on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 15:14:00 The Coops to Wendies summer saga didn't help. But, all things considered, the club are 100% wrong in its stance.
Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Power to people on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 15:21:40 You suspect the directive has come down from Power that under no circumstances does anyone allow the written press interviews and poor Tom has to bear the brunt of the press' frustrations when they phone asking for interviews.
But there is no one other than the press moaning taking a stand. It would be nice to be able to read interviews with the players now and again, and of course it is good for the younger players to gain experience with interviews with the press. Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Not that Nice If I'm Honest on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 15:44:27 Yes, blanket ban, no exceptions it seems. But very petty in this case. First Tea towels and now blankets Are they going to ban all forms of Household laundry ? Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: deltaincline on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 19:58:00 This just makes the club and Lee Power look petty.
Still think the cunt should grow the fuck up and realise that the club needs the local media. Onside. Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Batch on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 20:08:16 First Tea towels and now blankets Are they going to ban all forms of Household laundry ? They allow quite a bit of flannel. Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 20:11:23 I wouldn't be surprised if the club ban the players from having social media accounts soon
Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Mother Brown on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 21:16:06 Perhaps a banner, or a flag would help.
Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Flashheart on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, 21:37:41 Just out of curiosity..... I'd have thought that Darcy would have been covered by insurance?
Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: JayBox325 on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, 08:05:45 Just out of curiosity..... I'd have thought that Darcy would have been covered by insurance? I don't think they're releasing the extent of his full injuries yet so it could be for anything. Could be for private rehab to get him walking again, machinery etc to help him move at all. There's plenty he'd need unfortunately. Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Reg Smeeton on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, 15:34:31 First Tea towels and now blankets Are they going to ban all forms of Household laundry ? Have blankets been banned? What am I going to drape over the ageing legs in the depths of winter? I've always favoured a Witney blanket, I know upsetting for some as it is from Oxfordshire, but I preferred to see Witney as the birthplace of David Moss. Sadly, Witney blanket making has gone the way of hat making in Luton.... Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Not that Nice If I'm Honest on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, 17:28:38 I think you'll find hats are very popular in Luton
Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: scott on Friday, September 18, 2015, 11:29:25 Stuff all the squabbling & bullshit, this guy needs as much help as we can give him so let's all dig deep tomorrow & hopefully we can help in some small way. Feel absolutely gutted for him & his family. If anyone wants to show support in any way here's how:

Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Red Frog on Friday, September 18, 2015, 17:24:00 Another non-issue then with the club advertising the collection on the official website and stating that the club will also be donating. Well, except this is exactly the sort of article that the club would benefit from the press getting behind and sharing. Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Batch on Friday, September 18, 2015, 18:49:30 and it makes power look like a petty twat
Title: Re: Darcy Ward Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Friday, September 18, 2015, 19:35:16 I don't think the club would have done anything if Ty hadn't mentioned it
