Title: Windows 10 Post by: horlock07 on Monday, June 1, 2015, 13:00:01 Microsoft keeps notifying me that I can upgrade foc from Windows 8 (presently) to 10.
Its taken me long enough to get used to Windows 8 which I find a bit of a dog to work with, is Windows 10 any better or easier to use? Yeah it comes in with the latest Windows Update, the good news for some is that if you use a cracked version of Windows 7 or 8 then you can still upgrade for free.Windows 10 is rolled out on July 29th. Does this mean there is some subsequent charge after a year? Do you have to pay a yearly subscription for it?
Title: Re: Windows 10 Post by: jayohaitchenn on Monday, June 1, 2015, 14:10:28 It means that if you upgrade within the first year it is free.

Title: Re: Post by: Honkytonk on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, 09:20:48 From what I've seen of it it's a heck of a lot better than 8, which although I don't use I have come to have a grudging respect for.
Can't remember if it's been confirmed but windows 10 might actually be the last numbered windows OS. Everything post 10 (at least for the forseeable future) will be simply an update. Title: Re: Windows 10 Post by: suttonred on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, 09:28:22 Yes it has been confirmed. update/subscription model after 10.

1. Is it worth updating from 7? 2. Is it worth updating from 8? Title: Re: Windows 10 Post by: Bewster on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, 11:13:08 So: 1. Is it worth updating from 7? 2. Is it worth updating from 8? Is it worth updating from XP ? Title: Re: Windows 10 Post by: Nomoreheroes on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, 12:23:07 Is it worth updating from XP ? Yes. Because its no longer supported and doesn't have patches put out to stop people who have found ways to exploit it.Title: Re: Windows 10 Post by: jayohaitchenn on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, 15:48:54 Yes. Because its no longer supported and doesn't have patches put out to stop people who have found ways to exploit it. Windows 7 is already out of mainstream support. Extended support is till 2020. Title: Re: Windows 10 Post by: Nomoreheroes on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, 17:53:38 Windows 7 is already out of mainstream support. Extended support is till 2020. All the geeks I know say to go for it. Good price (free), quicker boot up and shut down, more secure and longer support.Title: Re: Windows 10 Post by: jayohaitchenn on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, 06:53:25 I guess I qualify as a geek, and i'm going to go for it too.
