Title: City away...
Post by: 02hodgsol on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, 16:46:25
Now that all the drama is over (Nearly) regarding tickets....what time is everyone leaving? Planning on an early (2?) train down, with a stop off in bath for a  :pint: or two, then down to V-shed for a bit of a  :beers: induced singsong.

I will be in the nearest pub that's showing it.

I live in Bath and I am planning on finishing work at 4 and going to a pub until a train at 6.

I'd be up for meeting some Forumers in Bath or Bristol. There's not a large selection of Pubs in Bath near the train station. My usual pre-game pub is the Hobgoblin. But that's mainly cause it's my local. ;)

I've just spoken to my boss and I can either book half a day off and finish at lunch or I can just finish at 4... I could very well end up finishing at lunchtime.

Nothing for this is planned, really. Maybe a surf banner, but other than that... no thoughts.

See the 82 ers, managed a massive 9000, for their game on Sat, in what is after all, the best season in their short history. OK it's more than we'd get, but we don't think of ourselves as anything other than a small club.

I was surprised they played as I'd assumed they'd have at least 8 or 9 on international duty.....after all we could muster 7.

There will be the usual pavement dancing and arm waving and that'll be that.

And, anyway, if we've sold out it obviously isn't seen as a problem for anyone

The city fans have been talking about 'welcoming us to hell' for the last few months... Good. I'm sick of being cold, I want it to warm up already!

What's the plan in regards to heading over there?

I'm popping in a pub with some mates in Bath after lunch. What time do most Town fans get to a pub in Bristol?

There's been a few threads of singing new songs recently.

We should try and bring back this: https://youtu.be/nwnrenHu7gc?t=27m37s

hahaha.

Just replace "play for" to "support".

Ironically if you watch for another minute or so, they're playing Bristol City and it all kicks off.

We're getting one of the SAS coaches to City. Can't be bothered with the hassle of being marched to the ground from Temple Meads.

My future brother in law used to live in Bristol and recommended an area that is out of the way of trouble with a number of pubs to choose from. Drop me a PM if you want its location at all.

The 'Welcome to Hell' talk is laughable.

Tip if travelling by train: Swindon to Parson Street return (change at temple Meads - no need to go out of station) is the same price as Swindon to Temple Meads. Parson Street station is a lot closer walk to Trashton Hate. But no train back though so walk to Temple Meads.

Well be getting off at Bedminster (stop before Parson Street) and wander through Bedminster for a few pints in the afternoon.

Although they use the name Bristol City, the clubs home support is based in Bedminster which is about the same size as Marlborough and just as quaint (very parochial). They're just a small town in Bristol.
