Title: Tuesday night football.
Post by: JayBox325 on Monday, March 16, 2015, 10:46:12
After a great Saturday away in Port Vale, we can hopefully make the most of Doncaster's poor home record. We should put them to the sword after what they did to us at the County Ground. These are the other top of the table clashes:

Bristol City v Crewe Alex
Preston v Posh
Doncaster v Swindon
Oldham v Franchise

City shouldn't struggle although I'd love Ajose to get a few, Posh are in a good vein of form so they should be a good test for PNE, we should be OK against Donny (1-2) and as we've seen with Franchise at the minute... any thing can happen with them but Oldham haven't been getting many good results themselves, I fancy Oldham.

Franchise will beat Oldham. Oldham have turned to crap since their manager left

This is true, but MK have won 2 of their last 10 or something silly. So hopefully their fall from grace continues!

Our record at Doncaster is dire.

Swindon will drop points. Preston will drop points.

It'll be frustrating.

I see the air of positivity has quickly evaporated.

Could see us getting a point and Preston dropping 3 by Sunday. Would leave us 4 points off them.

Thanks Reg  :)

Not me Guv....I'd say we'll fail to gain points. Dropping points implies you've already have them....for example in Crackerjack's "Double or Drop" you wouldn't say you'd drop a cabbage before you'd even received it would you?

No, in order to drop, a cabbage or even a point, you must already be in receipt of it.

I know but it came up when I searched for that sort of comment in meme form. Maybe "Doubters... doubters everywhere" would have been better.

I think the term 'drop points' is perfectly valid when a team is in direct competition with others.
