I know.  When my great-gramp dies it was horrible.  He was my hero growing up and i loved that man so much.  We did everything together.  He was riding his bike well into his 80's and used to bike me up and down Blunsdon Hill.

He suffered from senile dimension towards the end and never remembered anyone, not even his own daughter of grand-daughter (my mum).  But when i went to see him he always remembered me.  It never failed to make me cry.  He died during my GCSE's, 10 years ago now, and I still often think about him.

Anyway, enough of my life story.

It's good that you have fond memories of him though, I was too young to remember my Grandad when he died but I've got some very vague memories of him, I wish I'd got the chance to know him better.

My grandad died in 93, an avid West Ham fan who was an anti-Swindon Town gentleman, he died 4 months before our win at Wembley.  The last result he'd have heard was QPR 3 Swindon 0, in the third round of the cup, Monday night live on Sky, we played Mitchell at centre half, due to an injury crisis.
