Title: Health thread
Post by: janaage on Sunday, January 4, 2015, 10:45:53
Have we ever had one? If so please merge.

Not sure it'll be of interest but for around 15 years I've had 3 verrucas and despite trying many methods of getting rid of the fckrs no luck.

Finally made it a mission to make 2015 the year to rid myself of the nasty basts and am currently trying the duct tape with super glue method. Bazooka and similar over the counter products haven't come close to helping.

Anyone else suffer and won in their battle against the little fckrs?

Get down to your local foot specialist and get them burnt out, it works for warts.

I am afflicted by a bald patch, oh god.

I thought they'd stopped burning them off now, although that may have just been on the nhs, and even they may still use it as a last resort. Always worked for me when I was a kid, after my mum worked at the chicken factory and gave them to the whole family.

Find yourself a local witch - shouldn't be difficult

Kill a squirrel and glue it to your head.

I wouldn't recommend trying with a live one.

I have had intermittant veruccas for years now, the super glue and duck tape did work for a while but they came back, but I had about 5 on one foot and now its just one but its a big fucker the size of a 5p piece.

I had mine burnt off with nitrogen but that just hurts like fuck and they come straight back despite me having 8 treaments over 2 months.

If you have any luck removing them I would be very interested in the solution also.

Honestly didn't know adults got verrucas.

I just leave them be, they don't cause me any hassle at all.

I don't think I've ever had one. But then again, I don't make a habit of walking around bare footed.

Me too. To be honest I think you notice it more than other people, no ones ever mentioned mine....

I had one for years that was very uncomfortable. I got rid of it using tweezers and dug the fucker up. A bit of pain and blood, but it worked. (make sure the white root is out)
Couldn't walk properly for a few days /:

I only did it as my doctors don't deal with these problems any more. Been good ever since.

Very medieval.

The root is white? Thought I was aiming for a black root! Look flipping horrible at the moment, very satisfying though when the tape comes off and the cutting begins!

I've got a sebaceous cyst on my back which is pretty big and painful.
Got some antibiotics to clear any infection. Good times.

My Dad had his "dug out" by a chiropodist - slightly more expensive but sounded significantly less disturbing! Had to have it done twice but he seems to be OK now.

The GP flat out said to him he could try OTC products (you can even buy one that allegedly freezes them) but you may be pissing in the wind. Quality doctoring.

I had mine burnt out with liquid nitrogen years back. Oh my life, it didn't hurt at the time but it did like fuck afterwards. Very, very painful, I wouldn't recommend it although it did the job. Only root canal work is worse in my opinion.

I had verucas for about 5 years before loads started popping up and combining. My foot was literally riddled with about 20 verucas. Getting them frozen twice a week at the doctors didn't work so I tried an acid solution thing from the chemist (dr didn't know it existed...!). Worked a treat. Smaller verucas vanished pretty quickly but the larger ones were a bit more of a battle. I won the battle after couple of months of application of the acid though and I'm still very a free two months later.

The stuff is called DuoFilm - In a blue and white box. Get some.

Thing is I've done that way on and off but never got any decent results.

You bunch of pansies.

I normally embrace my verrucas. As it happens though I don't have any now (just had to check my feet), you're making me start to miss them. Stop it!

How strange. Since 10-45 this morning I've read 22 posts (on the Matchday Thread) on how we ascended to the "Top of the League". During the same timeframe there have been 21 posts about lumps on peoples' feet. I do sometimes wonder.

The comment under the TEF banner, at the top of the page, should help you out....

By my reckoning 22 posts about football compared to 21 about pedal problems is a disappointing ratio....reference to pedal problems might get the TEF MAMIL clique excited though.
