Anybody else giving the 'celebrations' a swerve tonight? I can't think of many things less appealing than venturing out on the one night that every twat in the country is pissed up.

Worked till 8. Ain't been put on Nye for a few years now. Most overrated night of the year.

It's the absolute worst night of the year to go out on so many different levels.

A friend of Mrs Taylor and me works the 999 line for Thames Valley Police and she says if you draw the short straw and have to work NYE...you just don't want to know...you give up hope for the Human Race.

Staying in drinking the last of the Christmas booze.

Just got back from a night out in bath. Watching paddington followed by dinner at carluccios. Such is life with children. Wife's mate round now. We are drinking until we fall asleep which will probably be about 12.05. Wild stuff.

Night in. Watched Dallas Buyers Club. Just made a cup of tea but might make the effort with a beer once Jules Holland comes on.

BIL works that gig out if Abingdon HQ. stories about Xmas and NY are astounding and disturbing at the same time....

Stayed in, the joys of having a 1 year old - and now sat having a beer watching Zulu - bloody rock and roll!

I work for South Central Ambulance Service... believe me, NYE is hell. I only ever seem to get days over New Years (worked the occaisional night), but I have worked 9 out of the last 11 Christmases!!

 I'm glad there's no game....never been much of a fan of NYD games with a hangover.   FL got something right for a change.

This was my first Xmas in the emergency services, I did quite well having Xmas eve/day off... day shift playing catch-up today wasn't too fun though.

15 stone Wayne Sleep...

Went for a meal in Old Town and noticed how quiet it seemed in the surrounding bars when I left the restaurant and walked home. Popped into the Merlin for a couple of hours then cleared off home as soon as the countdown was done and ended up boozing for another 6 hours.

I had a great night :)

My Sister in Law and her Husband throw a themes new years eve party every year. This years theme was Club Tropicana. Was great fun, had a gazeebo with a little PA system, how we didn't get complaints i dont know.
Almost had to call it a night early as we had the little one with us and we couldn't get him off to sleep, but managed to eventually, so all was good.

Were the drinks for free?
