Title: Would anybody like some old editions of "The 69er" fanzine Post by: Bedford Red on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, 17:19:09 I've been selling off some spare issues on e-bay for a while now, i've still got 10 left and i can't be bothered to keep re-listing them.
So if anybody would like any of these, please let me know and i'll be happy to post them to you. I don't want any money for them, if you do get any from me just stick a couple of quid in the next charity box you see if you wish. I've got duplicates of a couple of them, which i'll detail below so for those i'd prefer to give one to each person to give other people a chance to get a copy of the same edition. So, i have.... Two editions of No 3 (April May 1993) One edition of No 4 (May 1993 Play Off Special) Three editions of No 5 August 1993 One edition of No 8 January 1994 One edition of No 13 December 1994 One edition of No 16 August 1995 One edition of No 17 October 1995 They are all in reasonable condition for their age, some have rust marks, some have some general marks but good for a read netherless. So if anyone is interested, post below and first come first served etc. Title: Re: Would anybody like some old editions of "The 69er" fanzine Post by: WR5 on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, 18:13:17 Yes please

Not a bad idea actually. I may be able to do that if i can get time, here is a scan of the cover of issue 3.... Obviously that is if the people who run this site don't mind, and also if the people who wrote/contributed to it don't mind either (unlikely they would i imagine as it's over 20 years ago).... If you've not got time and the various parties wouldn't mind, I'd happily scan a few in, perhaps the TEF or the Washbag would host them? Title: Re: Would anybody like some old editions of "The 69er" fanzine Post by: 4D on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, 19:57:52 I think I still have the copy when it was "rats leave ship"??

I am happy to scan in and then load up the pictures through photobucket, but it would be quite a long process. If there is a better way for everyone to enjoy them i'm happy to "lend" my copies out for this purpose. I've got the following issues of the 69er -1 to 6, 8, 9, 11, 13 to 19, 21 to 23. I also got issue two of Randy Robin! Issues 1, 3 and 5 of The Magic Roundabout. One issue of Vintage Red (not sure which one) and issues 3 to 6 and 9, 11 and 12 of Bring The Noise. You (or I, or anyone) could easily scan them to a PDF then upload them to Google Docs or similar online hosting, would be better than individual pictures. Title: Re: Would anybody like some old editions of "The 69er" fanzine Post by: Bedford Red on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, 20:26:05 What happened to Bring The Noise? Issue 12 was the final issue, and it says inside that whilst sales had risen from around 1000 to 1750 per issue contributions had gone the other way unfortunately, making it difficult to produce a regular fanzine. I'm not the most computer savvy person, so i may need some idiot proof guidance on that!! I knew the fella and his girlfriend who did the illustrations for that Title: Re: Would anybody like some old editions of "The 69er" fanzine Post by: Hoboken on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, 21:03:27 Dporter was editor right? Shouldn't think contributors would would mind either - probably be proud/embarrassed to be in the limelight again. Title: Re: Would anybody like some old editions of "The 69er" fanzine Post by: Nemo on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, 22:00:33 No, it was Crystal Tips. Ah, so it was, my mistake. Good to see you still around anyhow. Would be good to have this stuff online for the history more than anything else. I'm happy to help out if I can...I think I still have the one-off from a few years ago so I could certainly start with that. Couldn't hurt :) I have The Magic Roundabout Issues 1 to 5. Issue 2 has the Runt and McMuck cartoon. Title: Re: Would anybody like some old editions of "The 69er" fanzine Post by: Power to people on Thursday, June 5, 2014, 11:26:43 Now where's the Runt and McMuck issue. Couldn't hurt :) I would imagine these days it would be Power & Jed with hands round each others throats The Runt & Mcmuck I think was a classic of all fanzines for that caricature alone Title: Re: Would anybody like some old editions of "The 69er" fanzine Post by: Pete on Thursday, June 5, 2014, 11:41:58 I would imagine these days it would be Power & Jed with hands round each others throats The Runt & Mcmuck I think was a classic of all fanzines for that caricature alone Issue 3 is even funnier with the legal threats story etc. I also loved Bring The Noise with the Dave Bamber cartoon. I had/have quite a few of the issues somewhere... I'll try and and dig them out. I want the 69er back and would support any such move..... |
