I've started voting green. Don't particularly want to live in a world made of concrete with no life other than man, rats and flies.

UKIP take a seat in Scotland.  Didn't see that coming.  Salmond had been gearing up to use these results to tell everyone that Scotland was fundamentally different to the rest of the UK, and to use it as an argument for independence.  Not so sure of that position now.  Just as he's been urging closer co-operation with Europe, the rest of the world seems to be turning away from it.  Bit of a mistake, I think.

I'm not massively bothered about the environmental stuff, but their views on introducing a  living wage, protecting the NHS, sensibly providing welfare and education, and general support of the "Common Good" appeal to me.

It's good to hear their policies are appealing to 'normal' voters and not just tree huggers like me.  :)

Presumably they have a cunning plan to burn newspapers for money and make us live in caves to pay for all of this stuff.

Tell me about it. Their answer to eradicating the Pine Processionary moth (a recent invader from the continent) is to spray the forests and eradicate every bug in the vicinity.

Heaven forfend for suggesting that the Daily Mail might not be quite the gospel of truth but there may, just may, be the tiniest possibility that some or all of that article is utter horseshit, suitable only for spreading on an organic allotment of the kind we'd ALL be forced to subsist on if these crazy lunatic hippies had their way.

I wasn't suggesting the Greens had made a good job in Brighton. Or indeed that the Guardian was especially a more reliable source (although with them it tends to be poor fact checking than outright lying).

Having had the misfortune to have been lumbered with Green Councillors for probably 5 plus years now they really are clueless.

In that time unless you are entirely environment focused they have no other policies.

A particular highlight was their attempt to control parking on my street which would have led to me paying £40 a year to no longer be able to park.

They are also as happy to blatantly lie as any other party!
