VIC MORGAN COLUMN: We only want someone who wants the best for our club

WE arrive at the penultimate weekend of the season in an unlikely position. Despite what appeared to be a difficult campaign, we still retain an outside chance of the play-offs.

Wanting the best for the club isn't enough in its own. They have to be competent and capable too.

I think that's what he meant by fit and proper.

Can't really understand the reference to 3 years ago. I'd take Fitton, Watkins, Wray et al back in a heartbeat.

of course. About as rare as rocking horse shit though. Every board we have had has had some sort of negative issue to their names

true. We are never going to get the perfect owners, we know that.

But honest ones acting in the best interests of the club is a good start, even when they get it wrong. I'd certainly put Fitton in that category.

More or less exactly 3 years ago we lost at home to Notts, a game which had we won, could have provided a still outside chance of salvation.

The defeat was played out against a backdrop of fans turning on players, fans having a go at management and players sarcastically applauding fans , before they headed off to the beaches and for them probably better clubs.
