Title: Egg Post by: 4D on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, 15:50:41 Seeing as easter is approaching.....
I love eggs, the proper ones not the chocolate ones. It's versatile, tasty and good for you. Omlettes, poached, boiled, fried, scrambled. If eating just egg, then for me it has to be poached. Fancy having eggs for tea tonight, can't decide how though :hmmm: Title: Re: Egg Post by: FatSmurf on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, 15:52:56 Eggstraordinary post

Title: Re: Egg Post by: Nemo on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, 18:08:00 At the risk of exposing myself to be middle class, I've recently started buying posh eggs. They were on special and I didn't expect much but they're loads better- Burford Browns are cracking (got the pun in, phew) eggs that are particularly good scrambled.
Title: Re: Egg Post by: Chubbs on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, 18:19:30 Love an omelette, which sometimes turns into scrambled egg :-)
Title: Re: Egg Post by: Batch on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, 18:28:44 One day this may get releases, then boiling an egg will be as simple as toasting bread.

Nearly there - just a bit of black pudding in you to finish the job. Title: Re: Egg Post by: Mother Brown on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, 21:00:57 Fried, on top of bubble + squeak.
Title: Re: Egg Post by: Honkytonk on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, 21:37:07 Nothing quite like a cloaca-fresh double yolker, like I had this morning, poached (barely... runny yolks are the sign of kings) on beans on toast.
I want another one now. Title: Re: Egg Post by: 4D on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, 13:52:57 Frittata :I'm a complete mofleakin Deak
Title: Re: Egg Post by: Amir on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, 14:02:03 Fertilised egg is a delicacy over here. Do you have that, Flashheart?
I'll try most things, but you have to draw the line somewhere. Title: Re: Egg Post by: Flashheart on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, 14:13:29 You mean a fully formed chick in an egg?
I don't remember seeing it in Thailand although I would be surprised if it isn't eaten in the North. I once saw somebody eating one in Laos. They sat their picking bits off and ate the lot: legs, beak, guts. It was not pleasant viewing. Title: Re: Egg Post by: Peter Venkman on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, 14:27:50 I once saw somebody eating one in Laos. They sat their picking bits off and ate the lot: legs, beak, guts. Yeah, I've had it bought for me a couple of times, though haven't even been tempted to look at it to be honest. Cambodians will eat fucking anything, which is clearly a regional thing in some respects, but I can't help feeling the years of not having enough to eat meant they experimented further. Title: Re: Egg Post by: Flashheart on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, 14:54:45 No it was chicken :D Oops. Dunno how I managed to do that, what a foul mistake. Rural Thais will eat anything as well. Dancing shrimp salad is another bizarre one. It is a spicy shrimp salad and the shrimp are still alive. Title: Re: Egg Post by: kerry red on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, 15:10:32 Years ago when pubs didn't sell food as such, I used to like a pickled egg in a packet of cheese and onion crisps.
That, mixed with the evening's alcohol, made for an interesting morning dump Title: Re: Egg Post by: 4D on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, 15:16:39 Oops. It's like those places in Japan where you catch your fish from a big tank in the centre of the restaurant, then they gut it and slice it into a beautiful fan for you to eat as sashimi... whilst it's still alive. Comes to your table still trying to escape. I like my food fresh, but that's a bit much. I remember eating pizza in France and egg was one of the toppings. I've never seen that in any other country. Eggs generally are smelly fart material....hydrogen sulphide style. Haven't been there since it was the pattern store bar. I'll try it, cheers Title: Re: Egg Post by: Honkytonk on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, 19:38:27 I like boiled egg in a curry Or better, one cracked over the top as it finishes cooking. Looks a bit like a fried egg, tastes over 9,000 times more awesome. Title: Re: Egg Post by: Amir on Thursday, April 10, 2014, 06:59:30 Minced beef on pizza is a staple Friday night food in Norway and is amazing. Never seen it anywhere else. My favourite pizza place here does a pizza bolognese. Stick a load of tabasco sauce on and I'm in heaven. Egg, spinach and cheese, Zizzi do a good one :) Title: Re: Egg Post by: Sippo on Thursday, April 10, 2014, 10:21:47 Pizza express do it aswell.

Egg, spinach and cheese, Zizzi do a good one :) Except in Bottelinos the pizza named Fiorentina is confusingly not as you'd expect (it's ham and mushroom)! Title: Re: Egg Post by: 4D on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, 19:48:18 Just had scrambled egg on toast, with plenty of butter in with the egg. Lush
Title: Re: Egg Post by: suttonred on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, 20:05:21 I had a curry in Wellington last time is was there, it was basically scotch eggs in a madras sauce, kashmiri dish, I believe it was called a nargasi Koftas, it was brilliant, never seen it here though.
