Title: Flossing
Post by: Barry Scott on Friday, March 28, 2014, 19:40:52
I was down the pub chatting with mates recently and some how dental floss came up. I learned out of the 4 of us one flossed now and again and the other 2 never had.

I floss daily and find the idea of not doing it pretty strange.

I've since learned that pretty much no cunt flosses.

What say ye TEF, I'm curious. Are the Yanks and Aussies right and our dental hygiene is shit?

I barefaced lied to the hygenist earlier this week when I told him that I flossed regularly. I do now and again, but nowhere near enough to say it's regular.

As long as you brush well twice a day, what difference does flossing make?

There's no need to floss unless there's food stuck between them in my opinion.

I've never flossed in my life.

My teeth are a mess but I think that's more down to the abuse of various substances and thinking it was cool to open bottles with my teeth when I was young.

Brushing will get rid of the plaque etc. on the open surfaces of your teeth, but the nasties hidden away in the inaccessible gaps between your teeth won't.  I don't floss every day, but everything feels nice & clean after you do.  Do it fairly ofte.  In fact, those little brushes that get between your teeth work better than flossing, I think.

I saw someone try to do this once at a party.  He was very pissed.  All jovial and japey before he tried, but was reduced to a self-pitying blubbering mess seconds later after watching one of his front teeth spin across the room and land in a mate's lap.

This is what lots of people say, but if you floss properly and get it below the gum line, shit still comes up, even after brushing - although I invariably do it before.

Most of the time I get no noxious smells out my gob, but if I don't floss for a day for some reason, then when I floss the stink that comes out from between certain teeth is pretty horrid, before or after brushing.

For the record I brush twice a day with an electric brush.

I floss every year whether my teeth need it or not.

It's good for getting rid of the most determined pubes

I floss daily. Flossing helps prevent tooth decay and gum disease, but more importantly it saves me money by avoiding fillings. It's a no-brainer!

Spot on Barry. Having a sniff of your floss is a good indication to what your breath smells like.

I also scrape my tongue and use mouth wash. It's a bit of a ritual.

Even thinking about scraping my tongue makes me gag. I'm lucky if I get through two minutes of tooth brushing without doing it once.

Flossing's a once a week thing for me if I've got time. Normally do it before bed though as I feel like there's great gaps between me teeth if I do it and then go out. Interdental brushes are the ticket, try and keep a pack in the car for that moment when you know you've got something stuck in your teeth but it's inopportune to go digging.

Don't forget to put your teeth back in after finishing your flossing.

When did we reach this point?
The forum is on a downward spiral, shopping with the mrs, making bread, now this. Its like the fucking womans institute.
Any rival fan looking at this forum worried about whether they were going to get a kicking coming to Swindon should be more worried about being yeasted to death or tied aup and bound with floss.
The world is going steadily mad.

Hence why a lot of old posters no longer post. This forum used to be a right laugh with more night threads.

Tell me, when was the last time a LNT was done?

Most of the regulars on here were also here 8 years ago when the TEF started up.  And guess what...we're all 8 years older than we were then.  Hardly surprising things are a little more 'sedate'.

How would yeasted to death work? Would you balloon like a ball of dough until you explode?

And tying someone up in floss would have a similar effect to tying someone up with cheese wire - just more minty.

We've lost some great posters: spacey; flammable Ben; mex; piemonte, etc and those replacing them just aren't up to it.
I miss Barry the Ginster Wrapper...

And online forums have been largely superseded by (or, at least, have to compete with) Facebook and Twitter.  Enough of us still on here to make it worth visiting though.

Just catching up on these types of threads before I go into town to buy some beauty products and get my eyebrows done.  ;)

Seriously, there have been threads like this for years and there were some utter shite threads years ago too. Lighten up, the sun is shining. All is good  8)

A bit of banality is fine, but flossing?  It is only a matter of time before someone starts discussing toe nail clipping.  There, you see, this is where it ends up.

I saw flammable Ben the other day, watching the Lego movie with a member of the female species.  The writing was on the wall.

Have people forgotten some of the stuff flammable came out with?
He was often talking to himself and plenty of threads back then got no replies.
Similar discussions were made back then as they are now. The only difference is that the club seems more stable and there has been the Facebook and Twitter dominance of the internet

On this note - does anyone still have any contact with STFC Village.
Not seen him on the TEF or at football for what must be years now...

Thanks for the reminder, my toe nails badly need to be clipped.

FWIW I clean my teeth twice a day and very rarely floss, unless I have meat in between my gnashers (and by meat, I mean a piece of steak, or lamb, not penis before anyone makes some gay oral sex gag)
