I see that Dagenham player turned you down today, what is it with players turning Posh down recently? Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: Peacock PUFC on Thursday, January 23, 2014, 16:43:31 Predictions for the game Peacock? I see that Dagenham player turned you down today, what is it with players turning Posh down recently? With regards for the Dagenham player turning us down I really don't know, I cant believe the players are after the success we have had with lower league players in the past. As for prediction, it depends which Peterborough turn up, but I will go for a 2 -1 win for us in the first leg and a backs to the wall 1-1 at your place. Yeah this place was decent. I'm pretty sure we parked our minibus and drank in this Peacock place when went up for the last game of the season a few years back.. Can't say that for definite though! I saw a minibus taking a roadside pitstop just outside Peterborough. The lads didn't even bother to get out of sight, wasn't you was it? :) Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: Tails on Friday, January 24, 2014, 13:11:49 Ha, the coxy brace game? I saw a minibus taking a roadside pitstop just outside Peterborough. The lads didn't even bother to get out of sight, wasn't you was it? :) That was probably us. Think it was Bogus Dave that stopped for a piss on the M1 on his own and herthab (i think?!) drove off! Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: Samdy Gray on Friday, January 24, 2014, 15:51:02 *M11.
We probably had 10+ piss stops that day. Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: Tails on Friday, January 24, 2014, 17:41:27 I think given the amount everyone consumed that's a pretty good return. It's a long old trip!
Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: Bogus Dave on Friday, January 24, 2014, 18:04:35 I drank too much that day

Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: Bob's Orange on Monday, February 3, 2014, 16:17:02 Are we confident the game will be on? Their pitch had parts under water on Saturday and the forecast for Wednesday is more rain.
Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: THE FLASH on Monday, February 3, 2014, 18:46:33 Rained off...or a shit muddy wet pitch might give us a chance...
Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: kerry red on Monday, February 3, 2014, 19:28:56 Posh are better than evens to win - cracking bet I reckon.
Really hope not, though, as I've got 25/1 on us winning the trophy Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: Peacock PUFC on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, 09:32:19 Are we confident the game will be on? Their pitch had parts under water on Saturday and the forecast for Wednesday is more rain. If the game was being played tonight there would be no problems, however the pitch is still very wet and boggy and if we get the rain expected tomorrow then the game will be in serious doubt. Do you know how many tickets you guys have sold in advance ? Obviously its £4 cheaper for you if they are bought by close of business today. (£10 in advance or £14 on the night ) Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, 10:05:22 If the game was being played tonight there would be no problems, however the pitch is still very wet and boggy and if we get the rain expected tomorrow then the game will be in serious doubt. Do you know how many tickets you guys have sold in advance ? Obviously its £4 cheaper for you if they are bought by close of business today. (£10 in advance or £14 on the night ) Can't imagine many people will be taking the afternoon off work and travelling that far for a game that might not go ahead, is an almost nailed on defeat, and will be televised anyway. Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: Peacock PUFC on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, 10:44:13 Can't imagine many people will be taking the afternoon off work and travelling that far for a game that might not go ahead, is an almost nailed on defeat, and will be televised anyway. Nailed on defeat ? We have been absolutely terrible the last couple of months and cant see anything changing soon, not to mention the fact we only have 1 striker available who isn't cup tied. Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, 11:51:58 Nailed on defeat ? We have been absolutely terrible the last couple of months and cant see anything changing soon, not to mention the fact we only have 1 striker available who isn't cup tied. Posh's record over the past 10 games is better than ours. Away from home, we've won two away games all season. Only Bristol City and Sheff Utd can 'better' that.Depressing stuff. I'm starting to feel like Reg. Title: Re: Post by: Batch on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, 12:17:10 Have to say I'm worried we will get turned over tomorrow. However with a place at Wembley at stake then maybe, just maybe, we will actually turn up to an away match.

My thoughts too.Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: Empathy Sloth on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, 16:27:06 Who else thinks there will be an embarrassingly low turnout?
Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: suttonred on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, 16:30:20 Heavy rain predicted all afternoon there, so I predict a turnout of 0
Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: Bob's Orange on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, 16:48:52 I read on Twitter that if it is cancelled tomorrow it will take place next week. Looking at the Sky Sport schedule, they could easily accommodate it on either Tuesday or Wednesday.
Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: SleafordRobin on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, 18:03:33 I'll be going! But then I'm only 50 miles away. I'm taking a car full from work as I don't anticipate a big crowd, either from us or Posh.
Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: Langers on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, 18:18:57 I suspect the tube strike will put off some who were intending on getting the train
Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: Paolo69 on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, 18:22:04 Won't help Langers. I'll be on the bus instead on the way across London then it'll probably be a cab back to make sure we get the last quick train back from Padd.
Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: No Longer Posh Red on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, 20:16:39 Who else thinks there will be an embarrassingly low turnout? The last time we played them up here in this competition there were 112 Town fans in a crowd of 959. FWIW we lost 2-1 with Trevor Benjamin scoring for them (it was a penalty). TV or not, the chance of watching Town less than 5 miles from home means we will be going. Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: 4D on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, 23:29:58 I'll be in the pub anyway, so it won't be a waste of time. If the football is on then it's a bonus
Title: Re: Pub and Parking For Peterborough Post by: Peacock PUFC on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, 09:13:14 Heavy rain in Peterborough overnight , but fine at the minute, will depend on whether we have the heavr rain that is forecast for this afternoon as to whether the game goes ahead.
No plans for a pitch inspection at the minute but will keep you updated from this end.......... |
