Title: Wireless Repeater Wirelessly ??? Post by: Bewster on Sunday, December 29, 2013, 13:19:47 Is it possible to use a spare BT home hub to make a wireless repeater?
Basically I need to send the wireless signal from the front of the house to the back so I can plug in an old Xbox into the homehub and connect to Xbox live. The Xbox dosent have an wireless adapter. I know I can use an Ethernet cable to set up a second WiFi network but can I do this wirelessly? Thanks Title: Re: Wireless Repeater Wirelessly ??? Post by: Barry Scott on Sunday, December 29, 2013, 13:47:27 I doubt a homehub is capable of acting as a repeater. Probably the easiest way would be to buy a TP Link repeater.
You can use it several different ways, but most applicable to you is to either to repeat your current network's wireless or to simply plug your Xbox into it and then allow it to act as a wireless adapter. I've used both of these, without issue. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TP-LINK-TL-WA730RE-150Mbps-Wireless-N-Range-Extender-Repeater-external-/161149571254?pt=UK_Computing_Wireless_Access_Points&hash=item25854350b6 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TP-LINK-300Mbps-Wireless-N-Access-Point-Network-Repeater-Bridge-TL-WA901ND-/151111266857?pt=UK_Computing_Wireless_Routers&hash=item232eeef229 Title: Re: Wireless Repeater Wirelessly ??? Other options include buying the Xbox Adapter or powerline adapter which seems a similar price to those you linked to. Title: Re: Wireless Repeater Wirelessly ??? This is for connecting them with ethernet, but you may be able to do it wirelessly with some tinkering. http://www.filesaveas.com/jarviser/repeaterhubswired.html Title: Re: Wireless Repeater Wirelessly ???
