Useless fact - white dog shit still exists - you just need to feed your dog a big bone with lots of marrowfat in it... hey presto, white dog shit

STFC away wins at Bramall Lane....I knew that Feb afternoon in 1970 was special...in the middle of a nice little run of 14 games unbeaten, and United had a decent side, Alan Woodward and particularly Tony Currie.

i always thought that white dog shit was due to the amount of chalk that they used to put in dog food, i think it was about 1990 that they banned it from being used in dog food. A bone with lots of marrowbone in it is good for a dog.
But then again i could be talking complete shit.

I've seen a white shit in a toilet before. I don't know how it was possible but someone managed it.

White is the colour dog shite should actually be.

It's only the cheap constituents of modern dog food that gives it the brown )and smelly) stuff.

If a dog was fed only meat and bone meal/or bones they would, indeed, shit white.

I thought white dog shit was the 'scaffold' of bonemeal/chalk left behind after the brown stuff had been washed or rotted away. Reason you rarely see it anymore is people either pick up their turds or thoughtfully pick it up and hang it on a hedge. Or so I was led to believe.

Incidentally, being of an age to not experience this phenomenon, the only place I've ever seen it was Newcastle.

It is due to bone content in a dogs diet,so when drying out goes white as that's what is left last. Never seen fresh white dog shit myself.

A high percentage of modern-day, commercial dog food is indigestible and hence the copious amounts of smelly, brown shite they produce.

Lions and other large cats produce white shite as well as their diet consists entirely of meat plus bones.

dog food like bakers, pedigree, etc are awful. My dog has bone in his food. A high quality food. A better diet = less shit too.

When my two entered their robot phase last year (they're still in it), I took to playing old episodes of Metal Mickey on Youtube for them.  Made around 30 years before they were born, and they love it!

Yeah, the barium meal shite is white and very difficult to flush, it sticks to the bottom of the u-bend. I had to get the marigolds on to shift it.

If you ever have one use someone else's toilet.

i dont like to come across that way at  all. Ironic coming from you too.
My dog had problems with his stomach, bowels etc for a couple of years. I had no choice but to research food for dogs for the sake of his health. Months and months of going to the vets wasn't working so I had to do something

A regular feature of late 70's Old Town pubs....along with the Salvatian Army selling copies of the War Cry. I always used to buy a copy....something I regretted, when they opened up Davis House, which seemed to be a 5 star residence for dossers and junkies.  Stan Colleymore's dad used to live there.

I lived there for 10 months many moons back..wasn't a hard place to live when you have done a stint on the streets or in prison or indeed in the house to correct your mind....but believe me its not a doss mentally. :D
And by the way all wages or benefits i had during that ten months went straight into the funds of the Salvation Army kitty, bar about £10  for expensives.....and rightfully so. :D
As i look at my life now i realise i have a lot to thank them for.

Toffee Apple men you dont see any more selling them from an old pram.....or the mobile fish and chip van or indeed the sleigh with Santa throwing sweets to kids from his sleigh ala a flatbed lorry.

Change of perception for me then....in the early 80's I used to have a place in Stratton, so would drink in the Wheatsheaf, Ermine Street...there was an old Pole who drank in there, essentially funded by locals, who'd fought in WW2 and didn't accept things were over as long as the Soviets occupied his homeland. He lived in this strange hostel place down the back of Churchway...never did find out what it was about.
