Title: Re: Wind Post by: sonicyouth on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 13:21:07 I'm going out for lunch and fear for my life.
Title: Re: Wind Post by: 4D on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 13:22:10 You're in Middlesbrough aren't you?
Title: Re: Wind Post by: sonicyouth on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 13:25:36 I went for an interview up there but decided I'd rather earn less money and not live in that shithole.
I'm near Wantage. It's still windy, though. Title: Re: Wind Post by: Saxondale on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 13:30:59 Im in Middlesborough today. Its making me long for the glamour of Swindon.
Title: Re: Wind Post by: reeves4england on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 13:36:58 Very windy here in Lancashire. Heavy rain half the morning too. Glad I'm indoors!
Title: Re: Wind Post by: Ardiles on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 13:37:13 I have train tickets booked to Glasgow for a wedding this weekend. I may be driving it instead.
Title: Re: Wind Post by: WR5 on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 13:38:22 Fairly windy in Worcester, although a mate of mine who is a lorry driver in Scotland is apparently having a bad day.
Title: Re: Wind Post by: Samdy Gray on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 14:05:49 I have train tickets booked to Glasgow for a wedding this weekend. I may be driving it instead. Driving the train? Title: Re: Wind Post by: kerry red on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 14:07:54 Driving the train? Isn't that sex-speak for something else? Title: Re: Wind Post by: horlock07 on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 19:04:58 Very windy here in Lancashire. Heavy rain half the morning too. Glad I'm indoors! Been a bit blowy in Lancaster today and looking at the trains I am glad I am off work today and didn't have the battle to and from Manchester to deal with. Our bin has blown over and the lid has blown down the path but we have a strong community here... We will rebuild. Title: Re: Wind Post by: brocklesby red on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 19:23:32 BBC are camped out in Cleethorpes at the moment waiting for some disaster or other. Trees down in our village and some garden furniture rearranged but nothing to serious so far
Title: Re: Wind Post by: Flashheart on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 19:45:28 As much as I despise the wind, I sort of miss it.
I remember well the howl of the wind outside later in the year, particularly before double glazing become common place. It does get very, very, very fucking wet in this neck of the woods with some very impressively verocious electric storms but Thailand offers little to nothing by way off a good gale. Title: Re: Wind Post by: Batch on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 20:16:08 As much as I despise the wind, I sort of miss it. Have you ever thought about coming back (not just for the wind), or with the family to consider is that impossible? Title: Re: Wind Post by: Flashheart on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 20:36:52 Have you ever thought about coming back (not just for the wind), or with the family to consider is that impossible? Permanently?... NO. And yes I could bring the family back if I wanted to. Although of course I would love to see some friends and family in person, which goes without saying. Title: Re: Wind Post by: Batch on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 20:43:40 Permanently?... NO. And yes I could bring the family back if I wanted to. Although of course I would love to see some friends and family in person, which goes without saying. I just meant the family might not want to rather than couldn't. Presumably you like Thailand too much to not want to come back? Just curious though tis none of my business, I guess people emigrate all the time for all sorts of reasons and never return. Meh, I'm sure you'll make it over sometime to visit. Would say I'll buy you an Arkells when you do but that's horrible stuff. Title: Re: Wind Post by: Sippo on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 20:50:20 I went for an interview up there but decided I'd rather earn less money and not live in that shithole. I'm near Wantage. It's still windy, though. A tree fell over today in wantage. Police were there any everything. Made me 20 mins late. Title: Re: Wind Post by: Saxondale on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 20:52:52 Wow, that was a fun afternoon.
The river Tees has burst its banks and loads of people have been evacuated. At about 5 the power in half of Middlesborough including the venue Im doing the courteeners in went of. We were supposed to open at 7, leccy board were estimating 7.10 the power would be back on. That changed at 7.05 to say they didnt know when it would be back on. So at 7.10 I pulled the gig. Within a minute of doing this the fucking power came back on. Had to very quickly unpull the gig. Its now happening. I'm due to drive to the engine shed in Lincoln to do the gig tomorrow. Not sure how the roads are getting out of here. Not looking forward to it. Are you Ted Moult in disguise :sherlock: Title: Re: Wind Post by: THE FLASH on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 21:08:27 I drove back from Newcastle today...
9 trucks on their side....luckily 8 of them northbound. Tibshelf services Shell closed as the canopy was breaking up. Detour through Donny and near Twycross zoo made me an hour late but I reckon that was a result! Title: Re: Wind Post by: leefer on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 22:32:27 Margate today in the lorry...felt like i was sailing to be honest.
