Title: League 1 stadiums Post by: @mwooly63 on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, 16:18:53 Hot on the heels of slavetraders 82 getting permission to revamp gashton gate , Brentford will tomorrow find out if Hounslow council will give the go ahead for their proposed new stadium
(http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab225/mark_woolhouse/_67914131_lionelroadmay2013_zps1103eb9f.jpg) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25189167 Brenfords had an average attendance of 6302 last season so of course a 20000 seater stadium is needed ::) While the posh have begun pulling down the Moy end ( visiting ) terrace (http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab225/mark_woolhouse/moyend_zps548472db.jpg) Shame as that wasnt a bad end and another terrace bites the dust. 2500 seater stand going up in its place Quote The £5million project involves the construction of an all-seater stand and a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education centre for community use. www.hounslow.public-i.tv. I've just text messaged Adrian Durham's show to elicit a response re: the demolition. Title: Re: League 1 stadiums Post by: Tails on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, 17:01:03 Just shows we need to do something with CG and fairly soon if we want to keep up.
Title: Re: League 1 stadiums Post by: Empathy Sloth on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, 20:05:36 I liked the away terrace at Peterborough, shame.

Title: Re: League 1 stadiums Post by: @mwooly63 on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, 20:12:58 re: Brentford. Where's the pubs. Tell me they are staying.. 910 residential apartments no mention of pubs Title: Re: League 1 stadiums Post by: Ardiles on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, 20:13:10 Shame as that wasnt a bad end and another terrace bites the dust. 2500 seater stand going up in its place That's barely bigger than the Town End, and almost certainly smaller than the terrace it will replace. Interesting. Title: Re: League 1 stadiums Post by: Dostoyevsky on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, 20:52:21 re: Brentford. Where's the pubs. Tell me they are staying.. It's a complete relocation Batch. Moving a mile away, pending the outcome of tomorrow's meeting. When/if they move in 2016 the pubs will doubtless either be bulldozed for housing or fold due to their staple income having evaporated. Title: Re: League 1 stadiums Post by: tans on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, 20:53:59 Arent AFC Wimbledon getting a new stadium aswell?
Fucking tinpot happy clappers Title: Re: Post by: Batch on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, 20:54:39 Thanks. I know they have to progress, but it'll be a sad day too.
Title: Re: League 1 stadiums Post by: @mwooly63 on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, 20:56:05 That's barely bigger than the Town End, and almost certainly smaller than the terrace it will replace. Interesting. 1000 less than currently but seating not terracing so stand always a lot bigger Title: Re: League 1 stadiums Post by: 4D on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, 20:56:42 Who? Posh or bees. Last went to posh when coxy got a brace. Never been to GP :-[
Title: Re: League 1 stadiums Post by: THE FLASH on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, 22:40:02 I liked that posh stand....
Witnessed Sturrocks equaliser there... Title: Re: League 1 stadiums Post by: dagrumpymunki on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 12:07:23 It's a complete relocation Batch. Staple income? Do you think any pub can really survive on a 1/4 share of the drinkers amongst a crowd of 6,000 for a few hours on 30 odd days a year? Title: Re: League 1 stadiums Post by: Dostoyevsky on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 12:13:05 Staple income? Do you think any pub can really survive on a 1/4 share of the drinkers amongst a crowd of 6,000 for a few hours on 30 odd days a year? Ok then, explain how there exists 4 pubs in such close proximity in a residential area, if not for the fact that they are all heavily patronised on match days. Title: Re: League 1 stadiums Post by: Give us an S on Thursday, December 5, 2013, 12:36:01 I bet the Tap and Barrell does more business on a match day Saturday than it does the rest of the week combined.
Title: Re: League 1 stadiums Post by: Dostoyevsky on Friday, December 6, 2013, 02:11:58 Brentford's new ground approved the same day that they grant Wigan permission to talk to boss Uwe Rosler:
http://www.brentfordfc.co.uk/news/article/uwe-wigan-permission-05.12.13-1218297.aspx That's the skids on their promotion push then :pint: Title: Re: League 1 stadiums Post by: @mwooly63 on Friday, December 6, 2013, 15:09:27 Quote Robbo @RobboSTFC 4m It's good of Brentford to provide all of their fans with 4 seats each in their new stadium. #BFC :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick: Now the council have given it the go ahead I think it has to be ok'd by Boris the bellend as mayor Title: Re: League 1 stadiums Post by: Tails on Friday, December 6, 2013, 16:15:20 Brentford's new ground approved the same day that they grant Wigan permission to talk to boss Uwe Rosler: http://www.brentfordfc.co.uk/news/article/uwe-wigan-permission-05.12.13-1218297.aspx That's the skids on their promotion push then :pint: Makes them a bit more likeable. Always respected them as a club but their conduct on the pitch in the playoffs was infuriating. Let's not kid ourselves though they are definitely heading in the right direction, Uwe or not. Pretty much agree Tails although they'll be royally fucked if they lose the rich bloke. Pretty much like a lot of clubs and just as we were.
