I have never even considered the thought of travelling on the supporters buses, but as I wont be able to drive (op on the 23rd) and I certainly don't want to have to go to the outlaws on boxing day, that's a bloody good idea.  Very tempted.

I still cannot fathom why the kick off time for this game has been moved to 12.30pm.  How many are going to wake up bleary-eyed on Dec 26th and decide to lie in instead of getting in the car by 11am and driving to London?  Quite a few, I would imagine.

Not sure why ko was changed unless its because of trouble after the playoff game. Early ko =less drink time

Given the alternative - stumbling out of bed mid morning still tanked up from the day before and getting in the car - I hope they do.  I really can't see why they've moved the kick off on this one. 

Early kick off means early drinking , me and a few mates were in a pub at 0830 when we played oxford at home on the Sunday in 2011, if anything it feels like you get more pissed drinking that early, IMO it's pointless:pint:

Not keen on driving to this as fancy a few bevvies on boxing day, but no trains and don't fancy the supporters coaches - anyone know if any private coaches are going up (perhaps tap and barrel coach etc)?

Was there trouble after the p/o game?  Didn't see anything, but then didn't stick around long.  I've always seen Brentford as a friendly little away fixture.

I stayed for a few beers after the match and didn't see any problems.

Bit if trouble in a boozer before the match which is unusual against Brentford. Something to do with a load of gobby Swindon fans that went down by coach and caused trouble.

Given how many times we have played Brentford in recent years, do the local police really count an isolated incident involving a few fans on a coach gobbing off as 'trouble'?  If that is the reason (and we have no way really of knowing for sure), then it's a complete over-reaction.  I'll bet Brentford themselves will be fuming.  It's a decision that will cost them £000s as a result of the lower attendance.

Funniest thing I've seen at football involved Brentford. Last home game of the season a few years back, I was stood at the food wagon by the magic and about half a dozen town yoof chased a brentford coach up shrivvy road. Coach stops and about 40 Brentford ran across the patch of grass towards the DRS. Police rounded em up, put em on the coach, and off they went. Possibly one of the shortest visit by any away fans, all in the space of me eating a pork bap  :)

Not even going to be easy for local based Town fans to make it - was just having a look and with the planned closures it's going to be a massive pain to get there from South London by public transport.

Or you could take the bus, which according to TFL, requires 4 changes. It's fucking difficult which ever way you try to do it.

According to TFL there is a tube service operating on Boxing Day

From about 0830 a reduced service will operate
on all lines with last trains at Sunday times with
the following exceptions:
Bakerloo line: Marylebone and South Kenton
will be closed.
Central line: there will be no service between
Hainault and Woodford. Chigwell, Fairlop,
Grange Hill and Roding Valley will be closed.
Circle line: Blackfriars, Cannon Street and
Farringdon will be closed.
District line: there will be no service
between Parsons Green and Wimbledon.
A rail replacement bus service will operate.
Blackfriars, Cannon Street, Kensington (Olympia)
and Upminster Bridge will be closed.
Hammersmith & City line: Farringdon will
be closed.
Metropolitan line: there will be no service
between Baker Street and Aldgate (use Circle and
Hammersmith & City lines instead).
No Chiltern Railways between Aylesbury and
Marylebone.
Northern line: there will be no service between
Camden Town and High Barnet/Mill Hill East.
A rail replacement bus service will operate.
Piccadilly line: there will be no service between
Rayners Lane and Uxbridge (use Metropolitan
line instead). North Ealing will be closed.

Just checked. Unfortunately there are no Overground services to Brentford from Waterloo on Boxing Day or any other stations nearby like Kew Bridge. The nearest tube is South Ealing on The Piccadilly line, 15 mins walk away.

Or jump on a 65 bus from South Ealing.

Ignore me, I read it wrong and they are running from Wimbledon until 19.00, so tram and district line sounds like a good shout.

So it's sorted then

Hertford North to Finsbury park
Piccadilly to South Ealing
Walk down road stopping at every pub

Perfect apart from the fact that there are no trains on Boxing Day so the Hertford North to Finsbury Park will be difficult.

No National Express from Hertford either.

The town also lies on the 724 coach route (operated by Arriva the Shires) which provides an hourly service from Harlow through the town and on to Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City, St Albans, Watford and Heathrow

Another option that is off the cards. Not operating!
