SWINDON Town are trying to get Nile Ranger back to full fitness before reintegrating the striker into their matchday squad, after he missed a number of recent training sessions. http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/news/headlines/10836405.Ranger_building_fitness_ahead_of_Town_return/?ref=rss Title: Re: Adver News: Ranger building fitness ahead of Town return Post by: Nomoreheroes on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, 10:29:50 This is quite an interesting, but annoying situation.
Ranger has played really well for us as a target man. I think, from what I have heard and the little I have seen, that we are a much better side with him in the team than out. But it appears he is not following the rules laid down by the management. So, I'm really glad that Cooper has the balls to leave him out and only let him back on his terms - Well done! I thought that N'Guessan and Elgabas were thought to be the alternatives to Ranger, but it appears that the former prefers a spot on the wing and the latter, while running around a lot, hasn't made much of an impact. Rumours of Madden from Yeovil being approach seem to me to suggest a replacement for Elgabas or possibly Ajose. Or is this just prepositioning for the non-return or jailing of Ranger? Interesting times ahead! Lets face it he can't have one set of rules different from the rest of the team. That said I don't think this is coming from Cooper, more likely to be a decision from above, probably Lee Power. Really? I see it more of Cooper saying he'd missed training sessions, he didn't know where he was and finally he'll be eligible if he behaves. The club statement was softer saying that he was given time off to prepare his case.Lets face it he can't have one set of rules different from the rest of the team. Or is this just prepositioning for the non-return or jailing of Ranger? I think Madden was good last season, but I can't see us affording him. Scored 23 goals in L1 last season and whilst he hasn't scored in the championship this season for a poor Yeovil team I imagine he'll look at moving to another championship team. Odd at what's happened with him at Yeovil, apparently an attitude problem! Title: Re: Adver News: Ranger building fitness ahead of Town return Post by: Peter Venkman on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, 13:42:59 Madden has apparently got a "Billy big balls" attitude that Johnson has taken offence to.
As for affording him....I doubt he would cost more than £100k in installments as Johnson wants rid of him and he is available for loan. Not sure I buy the fitness thing, I think the double training thing is a punishment, hopefully he takes it like a man and we see Ranger in a Swindon shirt again. Title: Re: Adver News: Ranger building fitness ahead of Town return Post by: Batch on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, 14:23:33 I agree Bob. And if it is punishment it has to be the right thing to do. Ranger has taken the piss out of every club he's played for. You can't afford to give the bloke an inch.
In my book he either knuckles down and stays squeaky clean, or he faces the consequences. If it means him leaving, so be it. |
