Title: Locking wheel nut
Post by: THE FLASH on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, 05:34:45
Took mrs Flashs motor to the tyre place yesterday.

NO locking wheel nut......had the brakes done a few months back but they denied any knowledge when she rang them.

We are selling the car ( I was going to wang some part worns on) so don't want to spend a lot....

Advice please?

I see that halfords sell a remover nut that cuts into them and cheap replacement nuts cost £12 off flea bay....is this the way to go?

I had the same recently. Bought a secondhand car and had it in for some work and the garage phoned to say no wheel nut unlocker

They did manage to sort it out - try Franklins at Lyneham

It happened to my car (although the locking pattern sheared off of the key) and I had to drive to a place in Chippenham where they welded a bar onto the bolts and removed them.

I had the same problem when I had tyre burst on me. Called the RAC out and they sorted it within a few minutes, didn't cost me anything!

Ask the missus where she put it.

"Ask the man in the garage if he has a spare one!"

I threw mine in the bin after a service, thinking they'd left a stray bolt in my coin holder pot thing. Turned out I'm a dick and it was quite important. Luckily the tyre people had a spare one and donated it.
