Title: Adver News: Power fears loss of key trio Post by: News Monkey on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 07:00:01 Power fears loss of key trio
SWINDON Town director of football operations Lee Power has admitted his concern that the Robins’ on-loan Tottenham trio could be prised away from the County Ground in January. http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/news/headlines/10790256.Power_fears_loss_of_key_trio/?ref=rss Title: Re: Adver News: Power fears loss of key trio Post by: DarloSTFC84 on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 07:57:20 From the Adver
this is a joke right?- HALL a key player?, the guy is sooooooo bad its unreal!, get rid, get rid NOW, we may as well pay Oxford over the odds for one of their reserves, it would as much of a good signing as the purchase of Hall! He's got better but MAN!--- we can do so much better surely? Of the three we have to keep Pritchard, free-kicks, skill and work rate all in one wee player! I'm just waiting for the meltdown.... Title: Re: Adver News: Power fears loss of key trio Post by: jayohaitchenn on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 08:21:12 I wouldn't go that far but he's hardly a key player either. Looks easily replaceable to me.
Title: Re: Adver News: Power fears loss of key trio Post by: DarloSTFC84 on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 08:25:05 I think he's getting better and better...
Problem is, we don't want to find another centre back pairing half way through the season....Branco has only played one game so far and looked poor, although grew into the second half. IF Hall goes, and we go back to 4 at the back, McEveley can play centre half and Smith (when fit) can play Left Back...Also, Troy? Mason would be the biggest loss of the three, for me. Pritchard is a craking player, though. Title: Re: Adver News: Power fears loss of key trio Post by: Paolo69 on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 08:46:38 It's not really news as such just highlighting the possibility which has always been there. The joys of having loan players, especially ones that you can't really afford yourself.
Pro's are massively outweighing the cons so far though, just means we need to enjoy them while we can. Title: Re: Adver News: Power fears loss of key trio Post by: london_red on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 10:50:56 Was news in the sense I wasn't aware when on a season long loan that a player could be sold out from under that existing agreement, but makes sense I suppose.
Title: Re: Adver News: Power fears loss of key trio Post by: Berniman on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 11:22:56 That story says to me that Power is expecting bids for Pritchard that Spurs may accept, there must be some conversations going on about it if Spurs are saying that they would accept £1m. Might be good news for Ajose.
The good news is that he sounds fairly confident that we might keep Hall and Mason. As much as Pritchard is an obvious talent and would be difficult to replace with the same level of potential, I would prefer to lose him than Mason and Hall. Hall because of the position (let's face it Branco I don't think is a capable replacement (and will probably be one of the bodies moved on)) and Mason (injuries apart) has had the biggest impact when fit, and we keep being told that there is loads more to come from him and he is a great player, Kasim/Luongo/Mason is a great midfield 3. We have seen Pritchard talents, and though he is very young so will improve/bulk up, I think at this point in his footballing life we have seen what he brings. I believe there is more to come from Mason if he stays injury free, which could be the catalyst we need towards the end of this season. Or we just asked ourselves? Title: Re: Adver News: Power fears loss of key trio Post by: Empathy Sloth on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 11:36:46 We'd cope if we lost Mason or Pritchard, plenty of cover in midfield. Hall even though he's not great is one of the few defenders we have. Besides I don't think anyone's going to be coming in for him.

Wasn't the last we heard of him he was going to get get surgery and would be out for at least another month (end sep-at least end oct). Suppose he's just recovering from that, assuming it was a success. Title: Re: Adver News: Power fears loss of key trio Post by: Abrahammer on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 11:39:45 No need to worry, as one of the Adver posters so rightly points outs we can replace these guys with more spurs loaness like Kane & Carroll

Title: Re: Adver News: Power fears loss of key trio Post by: chalkies_shorts on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 11:56:48 Out of the 3 I'd rather keep Mason whose passing is sublime at times. He also gets us up the field pretty quickly. Given his age I would think we'd have a chance of signing him.
Hall is unfortunate in that he plays in a position where every error will be noticed. I think he'll go on to have a decent career but is very replaceable for us. He certainly lacks concentration at times but is a young lad playing in a traditionally older players position. Pritchard is interesting. i can easily see someone coming up with £1m for him. He's good to watch but he's nowhere near the finished article. His decision making at times is bad. He also needs to cut out the diving and gobbing at refs unless he wants to become an Ashley young type. I was concerned the 4 Spurs loanees may have been like Dean Parrett - I was wrong. Unfortunately the downside of the busniess model is that we'd probably lose these players at the end of season anyway unless we stump up decent money. I think this depends on what division we are in, would have thought Championship clubs would be in for him. Title: Re: Adver News: Power fears loss of key trio Post by: suttonred on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 13:23:03 I'd agree but with the caveat, he would need to stay injury free the rest of the season. I have my doubts he will.
Title: Re: Adver News: Power fears loss of key trio Post by: Dr Pierre Chang on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 18:02:52 Agree with those who say they would most like to keep Ryan Mason.
Remember our front three against Bristol City: N'Guessan-Ranger-Ajose. They were excellent especially in the first half and if we retain Ajose and that is our forward line for the rest of the season I don't think we will do too badly. I think Pritchard will go on to achieve more in his career than Mason and he has more potential but for what we have now Mason is a key player, Pritchard is also inconsistent whereas I don't remember seeing Mason have a bad game. Anyway, this is a complete non-story from the Adver, any of our players could leave ffs, same as every other club in the league. I am sure the three of them will all be here for the rest of the season. Title: Re: Adver News: Power fears loss of key trio Post by: TheMajorSTFC on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 20:43:53 I hope we can keep Mason and Pritchard until the end of the season; Hall I think we would be able to find a replacement for.
