Title: Parking Charge Post by: ronnie21 on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, 16:52:58 Today I received a parking charge for allegedly parking for over 4 hours in the Go-Outdoors car park by Tesco. They have photographs that clearly show me entering and exiting the car park over a 4 hour period, the second photo actually shows me exiting onto Colbourne Street!! I do not deny passing through the car park, but at no time did I actually park my car!! My wife works in the adjacent Tesco between 8 am and 12 noon, and I was merely taking her to work and collecting her at the end of her shift - from Colbourne Street! I have informed them of this and told them if they wish to proceed they may take me to court where I will defend myself. Ironically I can prove that at 10-30 am I was elsewhere in town - suffering a dentist appointment!! As I was only passing through and at no time parked what are people's views on this.

Don't pay. Title: Re: Parking Charge Post by: Bewster on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, 17:15:27 Private fine = non-enforceable. Don't pay. Exactly - if you want proof google it - there's plenty of websites about this sort of thing. It's basically the same as someone parking on your driveway and you sending them a parking fine. Title: Re: Parking Charge Post by: blinkpip on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, 17:16:21 What about if they put a wheel lock on it?
Title: Re: Parking Charge Post by: reeves4england on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, 21:56:28 I got a parking ticket from a private company a few months ago. Ignored it. Heard nothing since.
Title: Re: Parking Charge Post by: mystical_goat on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, 22:29:21 They'll let that go anyway, because you didn't park there.
Title: Re: Parking Charge Post by: THE FLASH on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, 22:31:27 It's a sort of invoice I think....just ignore it...
Title: Re: Parking Charge Post by: kerry red on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 06:44:23 Just had the same. Parked in aldi and went to the Walsall game and got a parking charge from Parking Eye for £40 rising to £70 if not paid in 14 days.
Load of old bollocks. There is a YouTube video of a Watchdog programme about this and their legal eagle said these charges are a civil matter and completely unenforceable. They will continue to send invoices and probably letters threatening legal action and bailiffs will be mentioned. Ignore completely Title: Re: Parking Charge Post by: Arriba on Thursday, November 7, 2013, 12:06:21 Just had the same. Had another letter from them this morning which reads something like "having reviewed our data and following your representations we have decided to cancel the parking charge"!! In other words after my letter to them they checked the cameras and never found my vehicle parked at all!!!Title: Re: Parking Charge Post by: chalkies_shorts on Friday, November 15, 2013, 11:59:35 Send them a bill for your time.
