Title: Surreal Dreams
Post by: horlock07 on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, 15:09:02
I had possibly the oddest dream ever last night,

I dreamt that I was at Rod Stewarts 75th birthday party at his small house in Minster Lovell which was also attended by a number of people that I went to primary school (in Minster Lovell) with and have nots spoken to since.

I have no idea what it was all about....

Its all suppressed memories.  Minster Lovell was actually your village priest who buggered his way through you and the other primary school boys for years.  He used to insist on dressing as Rod Stewart singing Do ya think im sexy before the rape.

You're welcome.

I dreamt that I was being chased by a wheelchair bound Dennis Waterman on the roof of a building made of lettuce leaves.

I wish I could say that I made this up but it's unfortunately true.

After my Cornish holiday earlier in October I was drinking Rattler quite regularly in the evenings. That gave me some very surreal dreams.

I've always been fascinated by the ability to have lucid dreams (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dream). I've managed it a few times and it makes for a fun night's sleep (especially if there's a rather buxom woman involved) but that was mostly by accident and I have never really explored it further. Maybe I should.

I once had a dream my arms were made of spaghetti and I was being chased by an angry italian who thought I was his son. I still to this day have no idea what it meant.

I do have a regular one that I'm driving and the brakes don't work.

I had a proper sexy dream last night - the type that you can remember in vivid detail when you wake up.  It was magnificent.  Great start to the day.

Not surreal,  I know.

That's a sign that you have a crippled mind (er) and you worried that reality is going to crash through the flimsy shell you have built yourself.

The broken brakes is clearly premature ejaculation.

I dreamt I had a week old baby daughter a few nights ago. Last night I dreamt I had a dead pigeon in my bed.

Analyse that, psychologists.

Sitting on the beach finding that constant giant tsunamis (a common theme) are diluting my beer.

Not particularly surreal but i have same dream, probably once a month, where i find myself walking around the town centre bare footed.  I have a thing about being barefooted in real life so this recurring dream disturbs me a bit

I just remembered a recent odd one:

The other day  I dream the queen came around and had dinner with us, but something good was on TV so we had a TV dinner and she complained something or other was stale. Anywho, she ended up staying in out guest room. Only I forgot and I went in there 'cause the Mrs has a cold and was snoring her head off. Woke up with the topless Queen sleeping next to me.

Erm, yeah. Just so we are clear I'm not putting the Queen in the birds you would..thread.

I have a recurring dream that somebody is trying to break into my house using tools and gadgets that allow them to come through the walls.

I had one the other week that my airship was escaping from my conservatory and that it needed to be tethered. So convincing was it that I actually went downstairs (I think I was semi sleepwalking) to check.

My subconscious ruins any sex dreams I have - I dreamt I was banging Jennifer Aniston only for her to announce mid stroke she had Aids.

I hate myself some days  ;D

Dreamt I was a piece of rope the other night.

Was pretty frustrating, but kind of got used to it after a while.

Felt like the dream went on for hours and I was getting used to life as a piece of rope, I didn't have many conscious thoughts - as I imagine ropes do not - nor concept of time, but I was definitely a piece of rope.

It wasn't unpleasant or anything, just a bit boring. Makes you wonder if inanimate objects know whats going on.  :hmmm:

Did it take you to the end of your tether?

Perhaps your mind is fraying?

Starts off as a piece of rope but soon turns to an Oxford fan on a piece of string...........

The other morning I was dreaming of making a bacon sandwich.  I finished making it.  I sat down with my bacon sarnie and a lovely cup of tea.  I was about to bite in to it and... - one of my children started screaming in the real world.  Thirty seconds later, its 5am and I'm watching a three year old have a shit while a one year old shouts for attention from his cot.

They owe me a bacon sandwich.

I once dreamt that I came back from uni to visit my mum. When I turned up she was talking to the next door neighbour outside of the house and a blue dog walked up to her and she started petting it.

Who's dog is that I asked? My mother said she'd got it recently. I asked why she'd decided to buy a dog and she explained "well because he is blue". At this point the dog pipes up "yeah Simon, because I'm blue".

It was very surreal because my mum isn't really a dog person.

I dreamt last night that I ate a lady. Not a whole lady (that would be silly). I ate about a quarter of her torso, basically the top right quadrant of her body above the waist was gone.

Of course I was worried about what to do about it, as was the lady... she was quite fine despite having much of her torso eaten and was more concerned about how she would manage to hide it from her husband. The act of me eating her body was somehow a sexual one (it happened in bed) and she didn't want to let her husband know that she had cheated on him. She was also concerned for me. He was a big fucker and surly at the best of times, I didn't want to find out what he'd do upon discovering I'd eaten 1/4 of his wife's body. Before he got back from work she was trying out different clothes that might help her to hide that I'd munched away rather a large portion of her body.

.... and then I was woken up (in the real world). I just had to share that. It was one of the most surreal dreams I've had in a long time.

I'm still haunted by Dennis Waterman!

I had a couple of weird dreams when I was a kid that I still remember. I woke up one night and looked out the window to see a green 'planet' with red writing on it. It was similar to Saturn. I remember waking up later and looking out to see it had moved across the sky. Must have been a dream but I swear I got up and saw it. A night flying balloon perhaps  :hmmm:

The other was Dr Who induced! I used to dream regularly that K9 was circling my bed. I was always too afraid to stick my feet out of the bed.

I honestly don't think I can recall the details of any dream. I have sometimes woken with a start, but couldn't say if I have been dreaming. I fall asleep then wake up, and everything between is just empty.

I am starting to think I am missing out.

Same here really, used to remember them when I was younger (Strangely I had a pretty much perfectly recalled dream casting myself as Indiana Jones in the Temple of Doom every Christmas Eve until I was about 15) but as an adult, hardly ever.

My boy had his moments when he was a newborn but still he'd mostly sleep at night.

I have a recurring dream about my teeth.

My bottom set move up to partially overlap my top set and then I can't move either without shattering all of them.

Hate that one

Ever had one of those dreams which will become the best film-script in the history of cinema, or you solve the biggest mystery ever? You wake up desperately needing to tell the world, but you just can't quite get it down right.

There's a Bill Callahan song which captures this brilliantly:
Quote
And I dreamed the perfect song
It held all the answers, like hands laid on

I woke halfway and scribbled it down
And in the morning what I wrote I read
It was hard to read at first but here's what it said:

Eid ma clack shaw
Zupoven del ba
Mertepy ven seinur
Cofally ragdah

I'm very much like this, where I very very rarely dream. Even if I do dream, I don't remember the details of it.

I would possibly guess I dream once, maybe twice a year. (certainly the one's I can remember)
