Title: Preston
Post by: horlock07 on Friday, September 20, 2013, 11:33:24
I am no doubt being some sort of fuckwit but it isnt clear on the offical site, but I assume the suggestion that match day sales are cash only will mean I can just roll up and pay!

Yes, but not using a card I would suggest!

May as well buy in advance and get your loyalty points though.

Or hang around in a pub near the ground and wait for a reduced price ticket. Works for me;)

As it may be the only game I get to this year (are Carlisle still in this division) I suggest getting anywhere with loyalty points may take a few years - although I may be buying 5 tickets!

I tried to pay by Credit Card / Debit Card last year for four people but was refused. Asked if I could pay at the main ticket office but this was not possible. I was told that I would have to go to Sainsburys about half a mile away and take cash out. Personally, I think this makes them look a bit amateurish.

They are northern, they probably don't know what a card is. You're lucky they didn't ask for a fatted pig and two groats as the entry fee.

Going by train next Saturday and hope to be paying on the day.

Meeting up at Manchester with a Liverpool, Citeh, Man Utd and Spurs fan all coming along to support the Town.

Looking forward to a few beers and plenty of laughs. Makes a change not having to drive all over the Country.

Train leaves Jedstown (Banbury) at 7:54................The Duke on Tour.

No word of a lie...the first word that popped in to my mind on reading the thread title was 'Chantelle'.

I feel deeply ashamed.

Be interesting to see how many head up for this one. On the one hand, there's a lot of positivity after the last 3 or 4 games. On the other, people had to shell out £25 for Tuesday night.

Anybody heading to the Sumners pre-match?

My thoughts exactly Tails! Shit journey up (literally), shit game and the traffic on way home rounded the day off nicely...not!

Preston fans have an odd sense of entitlement as well. I spoke to fans of championship clubs and they've all said the same. They seem to think they are special because they were good 120 years ago.

Preston is also on a list of towns in the UK I consider more of a shithole than Swindon too. It's not a particularly long list either!

Mixed bag really - Deepdale (East Preston) is a dive, Ashton (W) and Fulwood (N) are much nicer. Quite a small place, but plenty going on with it being a university city.

I had the misfortune of spending a day off on tour in preston holiday inn.  Just across the road from that lovely bus station.  Apart from a quick walk around google eyed at how many Greggs they had there was very little excitement.  I began to question my choice of job.

Id rather be in Swindon.

I raise a smile when I reach Preston, less than an hour to go to get to the lakes  :)

Was going, until I found out the return rail ticket was almost £90, with everything else on top I wouldn't get much change from £200 so I'm passing unfortunately.
