I'm still mildly in shock that Kevin Doyle is playing in League One.

Heard an estimate (Irish Times) that his wage, including bonuses is almost £3 million a year. What's that roughly 40k a week for about 2 mill? Plus goals, appearances etc, I guess?

I work with a Wolves fan and he says they've balanced their books following the relegation, and can now afford to keep their best two players in Doyle and Sako for the rest of the season.

They've still got a bunch of players like Roger Johnson and Jamie O'Hara who they've been trying to get rid of, but nobody will take. Johnson is an alcoholic apparently, which is why nobody will go near him despite him looking like a decent Prem defender three seasons ago.

This Wolves fan can't have watched them much if he thinks Doyle is one their best 2 players, he isn't even their best striker.

Sako is an absolute beast of man though.
