Title: The Charlatans
Post by: Bob's Orange on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, 10:46:39
Sad news that their drummer passed away today, aged 44.

These guys used to be a big part of my school days along with the Stone Roses/Oasis. From memory the keyboard player died back in the 90s as well.

RIP

Very sad news.  The second gig I ever worked as local crew for was the charlatans in '95.  The company I work for (SJM Concert) have promoted their shows since the very beginning and Im supposed to be doing Tim Burgess shows in September.  To young to die.

Very sad news. I  recently went to the premier of Mountain Picnic Blues, a film about the making of Tellin Stories. That dealt with carrying on after the death of the keyboard player. So much sadness associated with a band who have been producing decent tunes for so long. Can't remember if it was before or after he was taken ill but The Charlatans at Chinnerys in Southend is one of my favourite gigs ever.

RIP Jon, the drummer I have probably seen in concert the most during my life.

A top drummer and a really nice guy too, I was lucky enough to get front row tickets to see him in "The World's Greatest Drummer" show in Lichfield a few years ago and he never stopped smiling on stage or off stage..
RIP

Tim Burgess is playing Bedford in September, sadly i'm away otherwise i would have got tickets to see him.
