Title: Sheff U v Notts C Post by: Reg Smeeton on Friday, August 2, 2013, 19:26:32 Anyone else watching? I'm just about ready for some football....
Observations so far.....Sheff U...big and strong...Weir should prove to be a capable manager. Notts fella got red card early doors for doing a Greer v Charlton....Sheehan is a cunt. Sky bigging up the 125th anniversary of the Football League, by showing fixtures involving foundr members, which is a nice touch. I've seen 40% of the years. Awful tackle that deserved a red but it does make the game a non starter for Notts Co Sheff Utd always manage to look big and strong , and even with a cut in the budget will be around the top of the table more than not Although its half time now and still only one nil - first game of the season is always a lottery tho Title: Re: Sheff U v Notts C Post by: Sir Pissalot on Friday, August 2, 2013, 19:35:47 As I said earlier in another thread....
Having seen the new Notts County shirt, I don't feel so bad about ours now. It reminds me of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5KaeCZ_AaY Title: Re: Sheff U v Notts C Post by: tans on Friday, August 2, 2013, 19:40:23 Didnt take long for kmac to get back in the game

Title: Re: Sheff U v Notts C Post by: leefer on Friday, August 2, 2013, 19:43:53 Think many South American teams copied English kit colours also.

I don't suppose Boca played in a kit inspired by the wonderful potato print effort of the 90s or the incredibly water absorbent DGI effort from a decade ago.Title: Re: Sheff U v Notts C Post by: @mwooly63 on Friday, August 2, 2013, 20:03:31 Showunmi makes an instant impact
Title: Re: Sheff U v Notts C Post by: Reg Smeeton on Friday, August 2, 2013, 20:06:13 Showunmi makes an instant impact There's always room for a big bugger centre forward in Div 3. Title: Re: Sheff U v Notts C Post by: pauld on Friday, August 2, 2013, 20:12:59 Think many South American teams copied English kit colours also. In many cases that was because they were actually founded by English ex-pats I seem to recallTitle: Re: Sheff U v Notts C Post by: Reg Smeeton on Friday, August 2, 2013, 20:14:12 There's always room for a big bugger centre forward in Div 3. And centre half.... Title: Re: Sheff U v Notts C Post by: Sir Pissalot on Friday, August 2, 2013, 20:15:08 There's always room for a big bugger centre forward in Div 3. Well we've got Willo. ::) Title: Re: Sheff U v Notts C Post by: @mwooly63 on Friday, August 2, 2013, 20:15:37 And centre half.... Either one would have been good for that corner Marking was appalling Sheff Utd back in front Title: Re: Sheff U v Notts C Post by: Reg Smeeton on Friday, August 2, 2013, 20:23:19 Well we've got Willo. ::) Let's not write off the lad before he's had a chance...I like Willo, of course he's not wonderful, which is why he's a Div 3 player, but he does have some ability. Yes, he does. I just hope he decides to use it this season. He spent too much game time 'hiding' last season. Title: Re: Sheff U v Notts C Post by: Ardiles on Friday, August 2, 2013, 20:43:55 I got in to the car a short while ago to run an errand. On goes BBC Radio 5, and an update for Sheffield United vs Notts County. No word of a lie, but as soon as the team names were announced I had a shiver down my spine. In a 'football's back' kind of way.
To be fair, early August has always seemed a little early. Still more than half of the Ashes series to play. Early September would seem more natural somehow. August belongs to the summer; September to the start of the new school term and early autumn. But I'm glad it's back anyway. Title: Re: Sheff U v Notts C Post by: leefer on Saturday, August 3, 2013, 10:30:40 Really surprised at the football Sheffield played, really weird after years of hoofball.
The passing and one touch was brilliant at times. Weir could become a very good manager. |
