ALAN MCCORMACK EXCLUSIVE: Why I had to leave the County Ground

ALAN McCormack admits to leaving Swindon Town with a heavy heart as he looks to do right by his family in taking an offer with Brentford which the Robins were unable to match.

Meh. Very clever interview there.

Still think he bottled taking a penalty as he had already agreed to move mind.

That to me reads along the lines of....

Brentford have the ambition to push on and get promoted. Swindon dont have the same ambition.

....early pre-season signings would indicate this to be true!

Although thats only McCormacks spin on it - could be an utter bollock interview just to cover the fact he wanted a pay rise!

Its sad but true that Brentford are ahead of us. A new ground on the horizon and a will to keep the best players and improve each season backed by there chairman to cover the losses they make. The odds are on they will have a better season than us.

However the odds were that they would have a better season than yeovil last year as well so you never know

Wish Macca all the best, understand his decision. Will always remember Northampton away

Exactly.  Not a glamour tie, but that goal would make most people's top 10 anyway.

So he's moving on for more money.  Most of us would do the same.  Not really much of a story, to tell the truth.  He'll probably do well for them.

Decent bloke, bit of a no brainer to take the 2 year offer when we only offered him 1 year, fair paly to him.

Bit of a cock up on our behalf, the revised offer was way too late.

He also says something about the unfair criticism that Jed has been receiving on social media sites, it is time for a line in the sand to be drawn.
