But it was a top weekend, dont think this lineup will be topped for a while!

Slipknot and Rammstein were awesome having seen Maiden a couple of times before I was a bit dissapointed with performance although the spitfire fly over just before they came on was superb

Yep I was there! At the front for Slipknot. I am now a broken man. Those pits were fucking brutal! Amazing set though. ADTR, Bury Tomorrow, Stone Sour, Parkway, Jimmy Eat World, Enter Shikari all played sweet sets. Like Tails said, that lineup will be hard to beat!

I was with Peters & Danny for most of it phil, surprised I didnt bump into you!

And the pits seemed the most brutal for Parkway Drive! Although ADTR's crowd surfing surfing thing was a bit nuts!

The crowd surfing thing for ADTR was awesome. Big fan of that.

Yeah man, friday and sunday! Although we split up to watch different bands quite a bit.

Went to Download in 2007 and 2009, Slipknot were awesome.

I've seen Slipknot 6 times now and I think last Friday was the best show I've seen. The energy in the pit was unbelievable.

The energy everywhere was amazing mate. We were by the second set of speakers and it was mental there. Few of my mates left before the encore and they said all the way up the hill it was just rammed.

Have you seen any of it back though?? Coreys voice sounds fucking horrible on some of them, but it sounded awesome there! TBF when we saw Stone Sour we said it sounds like his voice is fucked. That guy puts everything into his shows though, so hardly surprising if he was that fucked!

Yeah his voice has been sounding a bit knackered for a few years now. Compare it to the live DVD from 2002 it's pretty bad. The man can still work a crowd though. Hands down one of the best frontmen of the modern generation. I was right up the front, as per :D

Easily the best frontman mate! We tried to get as close as possible but we left it a bit too late. Didnt make a difference in the end though, it was still fucking incredible.

Were you at the front for Rammstein as well? I heard that a few people got carried out with heat exhaustion because of all the fire!

Yeah I've got one on my hand that's just fading now, got smacked in the back of the head by some dude, I think he came off worse though!

Nah I was in my chair all of Sunday. We were camped in yellow, basically as far away from the arena as you could get. I was exhausted from the walking let alone 90 minutes of flame throwers!
Amazing show though, best live act I've seen. The sound quality was incredible and I wasn't even in a good spot.

Chair all day?! That's disappointing! We caught the first few minutes of Limp Bizkit (they opened with Rollin so it got pretty lively) then ran over to Rammstein with literally about 2000 others so we weren't in a great spot but it still sounded incredible. You could feel the heat as well. I knew they'd put on a show but wasn't expecting that. The 90 minutes or however long they were on flew by. Was disappointed they played the piano version of Mein Herz Brennt though, that song is epic and i spent 5 minutes waiting for it to break!

Mate, I'd walked about 40 miles by that point, plus I turned up on Thursday having had 1 hours sleep. I was fuuuuucked. Plus I got high for the first time in like 8 months and it knocked my block off!

I love it, I've seen them twice and it's amazing.

What side were you on for Slipknot, Benzel? I left Motionless in White early doors to get a good spot for Bullet, then ploughed my way to the front when they finished, ready for the 'knot. How was this a week ago already?!?!?!?!?! Crazy.

As for the clips of their set, The few ive seen seem to be taken near the end of the set, so I'm not surprised his voice was a bit screwed! That man gives his fucking all! So much respect for him.

I was down the right hand side, Phil. Yeah we left MIW early to get some drinks from our tent, got in about a minute before Disasterpiece started and worked my way to the front. I tagged onto a bunch of guys that were ploughing through and then hopped through some pits that opened up and hey presto - I was about 20 rows from the front!

I fucking love Slipknot, been a huge fan since Wait and Bleed first appeared on Kerrang all those years ago. Loved it when they had to stop in Left Behind, he kept the crowd calm and as soon as he said everyone take a step back... it happened in unison, 85,000+ people all at once. Amazing.

I genuinely can't believe Slipknot are still going. What about Korn, Limp Bizkit and the rest?

Both played at Download :D Korn were awesome, I didn't seen Limp because they were on at the same time as Rammstein but I did see them two years ago at Sonisphere and they were excellent.

It made me feel old. Papa Roach have been going for 20 (YES, TWENTY) years now. Fred Durst isn't looking good these days either, I mean he didnt look good anyway but still!

Korn were quality, they seem to be getting better with age!

As for breaking the barricade, I think Corey was the only person who could have made that many people start behaving so quickly! Anyone else see FFDP? Their singer nearly had it out with some of the security guards.

There older stuff is amazing. Wait & Bleed, Spit it Out, [Sic], People=Shit, Basically all the stuff from the self titled Slipknow album and their Iowa album is worth a listen, the newer stuff... Not so much..

I'm certainly a lot more selective with what I listen to off of the last 2 albums. I still like pretty much all of the songs but the first two albums are so easy to listen to from beginning to end.

Nearly 30 years since Cliff Burton died. I was more shocked about that news than when Princess Di pegged it.

I still consider Slipknot to be one of the newer bands!

If you go all the way back to when they were a 6 piece, they've been going since about 95!

Slipknot are in their 40's now!

I actually prefer Stone Sour to Slipknot. But love it all and the newer stuff.

I was down the left hand side for Slipknot the whole place was jumping absolutely awesome. Loved 5 finger death punch as well and black star riders playing some of the old Thin Lizzy classics.
