Once Jed has sold off Wes for dogfood and pocketed the fee. Title: Re: Adver News: Digby close to sealing return Post by: Peter Gibbons on Monday, June 10, 2013, 20:31:59 There's time yet. Title: Re: Adver News: Digby close to sealing return Post by: Baggins on Monday, June 10, 2013, 21:20:30 I have no idea if Digby is a good coach or not, but for some reason I feel better knowing he is around the club somehow - like a security blanket, or a really big hug.

Title: Re: Adver News: Digby close to sealing return Post by: LucienSanchez on Monday, June 10, 2013, 21:39:39 Wes got worse after Digby started... could be coincidence, but I'm not convinced by his coaching ability. There, I said it :)

There, I said it :) He's a Town legend, but I was thinking the same thing. Title: Re: Adver News: Digby close to sealing return Post by: DV on Monday, June 10, 2013, 23:32:43 Wes got worse after Digby started... could be coincidence, but I'm not convinced by his coaching ability. There, I said it :) I dared to question his coaching credentials when he first join. I got shot down. Seemed like an appease the fans move at the time and still does now tbh. I got shot down. i disagreed and explained why.hardly shot down. Seemed like an appease the fans move at the time and still does now tbh. Healthy debate more like. There, I said it :) The evidence suggests you are right. His shot stopping and that was as good as ever but his more high risk mentatilty coincided with Digby's arrival. Could be coincidence though i guess Title: Re: Adver News: Digby close to sealing return Post by: Bob's Orange on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, 08:21:01 Does Digby have his coaching badges and stuff? Actually does a GK coach need coaching badges?

His shot stopping and that was as good as ever but his more high risk mentatilty coincided with Digby's arrival. Could be coincidence though i guess I have a feeling that the change in Wes' form/approach had more to do with Doardo's departure than Fraser's arrival. Too simple to lay the blame at Fraser's door. It could just be that he thrived under the old regime. Title: Re: Adver News: Digby close to sealing return Post by: LucienSanchez on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, 08:48:59 I actually agree, but thought I'd raise the possibility. My actual opinion on it is that there is a combination of factors:
- our defense has been a little high and leaky, leaving Wes one-on-one more often, with more scope for mistakes - the differences in coaching/preparation between Douardo and Digby. I know nothing about the latter's techniques, but Douardo was praised for his attention to detail with regards to scouting the opposition and one-on-one coaching - Wes must take some personal responsibility Title: Re: Adver News: Digby close to sealing return Post by: Paolo69 on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, 08:59:55 The whole team got worse as you would expect when you lose your manager and most influential player mid season. Wes was more vulnerable/exposed, had more to do and therefore more susceptible to mistakes.
I (like most on here) have no clue whether Fraser is a decent coach or not. As long as he's the manager's choice then I'm more than happy to have a legend on board. Yep - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/2625169.stm Title: Re: Adver News: Digby close to sealing return Post by: pauld on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, 11:55:38 Yep - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/2625169.stm They do still need to get their badges but the point being made in that article (that keepers have to go through all the outfield courses to get to the GK courses) is no longer true - the GK track now runs in parallel with the "normal" coaching qualifications:http://www.thefa.com/my-football/football-volunteers/CoachingVolunteering/Get%20Into%20Coaching/~/media/4B30C67CB4AA49DA9CB58EF341D024FA.ashx/CoachingPathway0811.pdf Title: Re: Adver News: Digby close to sealing return Post by: donkey on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, 16:30:34 They do still need to get their badges but the point being made in that article (that keepers have to go through all the outfield courses to get to the GK courses) is no longer true - the GK track now runs in parallel with the "normal" coaching qualifications: http://www.thefa.com/my-football/football-volunteers/CoachingVolunteering/Get%20Into%20Coaching/~/media/4B30C67CB4AA49DA9CB58EF341D024FA.ashx/CoachingPathway0811.pdf And do we know if Diggers has them? I hope so (or is working towards it). Title: Re: Adver News: Digby close to sealing return Post by: Paul Mason on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, 16:38:55 You do still have to do each outfield badge before the relevant goalkeeping badge
