No point crying over spilled milk. I'm getting a bit bored of hearing about players getting offers from here there and everywhere. Either stay or go. Just do it with a bit of dignity.

Probably been the first name on the team sheet for the past two seasons. Not surprised other teams wants him. Can't see him staying. Money will dictate where he goes.

Prone to making silly mistakes and diving in to giving away penalties, BUT, whenever he plays he puts in 100% (not 110% as impossible) and looks to drive the team on. The guy was tireless in our matches against Brentford putting his body on the line for the cause (that tackle in the first leg summed him up) and I am sure his drive and belief got us back in the game in the second leg.

I'm sure others will disagree but for me, keeping Alan is far more important than Ferry, especially bearing in mind the fact he can play almost anywhere on the pitch.

Though he was older than 29. Has been by and large excellent for us but not head and shoulders a stand out player this season. Makes me wonder if championship is a stretch too far, but wouldn't blame him for going.

He is at the stage of his career where he wouls be foolish not to take the money and run. Ih he can get a few grand a week extra to warm a bench somewhere good luck to him.

I'm not sure Alan is the kind of player who would be happy to take the extra money to warm a bench personally. The guy clearly wants to play, and win.

No way he'll stay. What hope do we offer for the coming term? I suspect several of the squad will think similarly, even those with contract offers on the table.

Been more disappointed with him than pleased this season. Most likely down to his position but even in cm I believe there are easily better out there. If he's a high earner, cheerio. Thanks for the promotion season

Losing him would be a blow, especially after Ferry departing, but he is far from irreplacable

If I recall many of the same things (he isn't good enough for the championship, we can easily replace him etc) were said about Greer.

We all know how that worked out for him, and more worryingly us.

The problem will be that unlike PDC, MacDonald won't have the funds to get it wrong (a replacement) and then just go out and get another player.

For the record - If he goes to the championship I hope he's a massive success. Wouldn't wish him anything other than good luck.

He won't even have the funds to replace him like for like. We're relying on Macdonald's eye for cheap talent and a large dollop of luck. Worked for Yeovil, less so for Tranmere.

If our rumoured budget for next year s correct at 2.4M then we'll have double what Yeovil had and nearly triple that of Tranmere. So not really similar circumstances.

If you look at a starting 11 from our contracted players it's not all doom an gloom. Areas to strengthen yes but I'm trying to remain cautiously optimistic...

Wes

N Thompson
Ward
Tah
JMac

Roberts
Cox
Navarro
L. Rooney

Collins
Williams

That's true, with a couple of caveats. Didn't I read that the reported £2.4m includes all non-playing staff too? How much does that take out allowing for directors' salaries and benefits etc? But yes, we still generate more income than Tranmere or Yeovil (even without the staggeringly dubious £1.8m profit on concerts), so we should be able to compete with them, if we can manage our cash-flow. (This is where Jed may hit a problem this summer.)

And tbh I'll be surprised if we retain all the contracted players you list above. Wes? I can't see it. And any of the others for a relative pittance, no doubt. I bet at least three have gone by opening day 13-14.

It really does depends on so much we can't yet know. How much of that 2.4m is already taken with what we have. Even with jd, ferry, rdv and possibly alan Mc off the wage bill I bet that's not the 2m we need to slash.

Dont forget the other players who were out on loan and have come back. Benson, Caddis and Cox. All of those will surely be moved on.

Who is saying these clubs are after him?

I like Alan Mac, but if he leaves so be it.

Can't see Caddis playing for us again -- did he arrive with Ferry and if so for how much?

Isn't A Rooney with us next season too?

I think much of what is emanating from the club regarding budget  can be taken with a pinch of salt....we know we have to downsize, and there's still a long way to go.

Ebbsfleet's new budget is £8k a week - can we aspire to that?

If someone baked you a cake, threw you a party and sang 'Happy Birthday' to you, then yes. Yes it is.
