I think Byrne has loads of potential, but I would prefer him in a wide midfield role rather than fullback but he is very versatile. He'd definitely play better as a right midfielder I think. It's nice that he's had that full-back training so he's more defensively minded than other wingers might be, but, if Caddis isn't off because Brum can't afford him, Byrne playing above him would be very good. Byrne playing above Thompson would be good enough! Here's hoping that 'we' means something! On the basis he doesn't cost to much i think he makes some sense as full back cover, but i'd have Thompson and McEveley as first choice full backs. With Macca then as utility thats full back covered |
