Title: Re: Best Swindon XI From Last 10 Years Post by: adje on Friday, April 26, 2013, 17:52:28 ......besides,Chang started it by putting Sheehan in!
Title: Re: Best Swindon XI From Last 10 Years Post by: tans on Friday, April 26, 2013, 18:06:10 McNamee! Youve lost it Adje ;)
Title: Re: Best Swindon XI From Last 10 Years Post by: Dr Pierre Chang on Friday, April 26, 2013, 18:06:18 Haha in fairness to Sheehan he was very good in 09/10. Morrison always looked dodgy to me.
Forgot about Miglioranzi, he would be in my side instead of Igoe - centre midfield and defence was an area short on quality options. No Caddis on the basis that he only proved himself at League 2 level for us. Title: Re: Best Swindon XI From Last 10 Years Post by: adje on Friday, April 26, 2013, 18:13:43 Ha-loved MacNamee!Knew I'd be in a minority of one
Title: Re: Best Swindon XI From Last 10 Years Post by: Abrahammer on Friday, April 26, 2013, 18:14:29 We have definately had a lot more quality at RB than LB during the last 10 years, no one really stands out at LB
Title: Re: Best Swindon XI From Last 10 Years Post by: adje on Friday, April 26, 2013, 18:17:16 McNamee! Youve lost it Adje ;) weren't allowed to have Danny Ward! Title: Re: Best Swindon XI From Last 10 Years Post by: Dr Pierre Chang on Friday, April 26, 2013, 18:20:06 Ward could have been in there. He was here for a good half season at least wasn't he? I only said about short term loans to avoid James Milner being in every side.
Title: Re: Best Swindon XI From Last 10 Years Post by: wigglesworth on Saturday, April 27, 2013, 00:31:18 Good shout, got me thinking this so here goes...
Foderingham - best keeper since Digby for me. Imperious. Caddis - finest RB I've seen since Kerslake, gutted and perplexed when he left the club. Greer - True leader of men at the back. Ifil - The BEAST was quality for us. 200+ appearances for the mighty reds? come on. Nicholas - Honestly can't find a better more consistent LB over last 10yrs. clearly slim pickings for the no.3 jersey! Igoe - what a player, on his day really was untouchable, will never forget his debut pre season thought we'd signed the blond maradona Miglioranzi - classy, silky skills, unlocked defenses, a joy to watch was Migz. McCormack - What a fucking player. Earns his spot in any team. D, D Ward - power, pace, skill, excitement, creative, goals. Complete package. Parkin - First name on the teamsheet. Old School forward with sublime positioning and an eye for a finish out of nothing. Austin - probably most natural finisher I've seen at the CG in 25 years. He really was THAT good. Bench: Smith (G) - a more than worthy no.2 between the sticks Cox - only two slots up top but what a player to come off the bench... Gurney - fucking solid bastard with a demon free kick on him. never forget what nearly was, that night at elland road... Howard - shone in a truly decent team but couldn't quite find him a first XI place Heywood - Solid cover at CB Peacock - consistent performer, always gave 100% and some vital goals Ferry - Just makes it in but more to come from the wee man Title: Re: Best Swindon XI From Last 10 Years Post by: RedRag on Saturday, April 27, 2013, 06:04:26 Fods

Title: Re: Best Swindon XI From Last 10 Years Post by: RedRag on Saturday, April 27, 2013, 06:58:59 pretty sure it was right back
quite an eyeopener that we have had no remotely outstanding left backs in ten years. Wonder if the new improved (well chunkier) Danny Ward could be made into one? Title: Re: Best Swindon XI From Last 10 Years Post by: wigglesworth on Saturday, April 27, 2013, 07:02:40 I used to regularly remark that Michael Timlin was the "best left back at the club" and he wasn't even a proper left back.

Caddis Greer Ward Cibocchi (Because he wants to dance with the fan) JP McGovern Ferry Miglioranzi Ritchie Austin Cox Subs; Brezovan, Cuthbert, Comminges, Douglas, DD Ward, Parkin, Peacock. Title: Re: Best Swindon XI From Last 10 Years Post by: sonicyouth on Saturday, April 27, 2013, 09:45:07 Foderingham
Caddis Greer Ifil Smith Ritchie Miglioranzi Ferry Howard Cox Parkin LB was a pain to pick, I nearly plumped for Vincent but decided against it due to the way in which he was bombed out of the club for being a woman beater so went for a RB who often played LB for us. Title: Re: Best Swindon XI From Last 10 Years Post by: Batch on Saturday, April 27, 2013, 11:10:57 Is Ifil a typo Sonic?
Title: Re: Best Swindon XI From Last 10 Years Post by: sonicyouth on Saturday, April 27, 2013, 11:14:28 Nope, he always played well alongside someone who was a strong leader and Greer fits that criteria better than anyone imo
