I don't care what level we are playing, Simon Ferry and Nathan Thompson need to be offered contracts yesterday.

Maybe the like of Ferry does't fit into next seasons  league 1 budget STFC4LIFE, only a championship budget. Can't believe Thompson would fit in to that category though.

Maybe the likes of Ferry have made it clear that unless we get into the Championship they have no interest in signing a new contract.

We don't have a single star player. Yes there are some who i'd like to stay and get contracts but there aint 1 who we couldn't do without.
They can either wait or fuck off as far as i'm concerned.

Except, of course, that if they all fucked off we'd be back where we were when Paolo took over. They might all be replaceable individually, but we could do without having to replace 10 of the buggers.

The most important ones are all under 24 for we would get a fee even if they left.

Depends on their ages whether we are entitled to a fee or not.

In any case, it doesn't really make any difference whether we negotiate now or wait until the end of the season - players over the age of 23 (I think) can start negotiating with other clubs now if they like. They are allowed to do so if they have less than six months remaining on their contract. I'd imagine they'll all have had their agents making enquiries on their behalf and will want to wait before they sign anything. And who can blame them?

Some will stay but some will obviously go. At least it gives the new manager a chance to build his own squad.

Why does every fucking thing have to have a negative spin put on it?

Is it not equally possible that KMac wants to see what division we're in before because he is as aware as the rest of us that a good chunk of the players aren't good enough for the Championship, and doesn't want a load of dead wood contracted when we go up?

I agree with this to a certain extent.  Not irreplaceable, but very hard to replace.  And we haven't really got a good record at getting decent keepers in.

So you think that if 4 or 5 of our players leave in the summer KMac is going to get a nice chunk of wonga from this current board to find replacements?

This board have done absolutely NOTHING, so far, to fill me with any confidence in the future and every single person I have spoken to are hanging off purchasing a new ST - and whom can blame them. The fear of any money coming into the club is going to disappear into a black hole called Jed & Co. is very real - whether it happens or not

Well, apart from the fact PDC took over in the bottom division, but aside from that tiny fact, yeah, screwed.

The difference in TV rights is staggering in its difference....we currently recieve £350,000 a season for TV rights....a rise to the Championship sees it rise to 2.8 million :eek:
So this year more than any will see the backroom boys wanting us to go up.......incidently i see that Pompey get there last Premiership parachute payment next season......9 million :eek: :eek:

I only meant in terms of having to build a squad from scratch, which Paolo didn't get right straight away.
